Circus Oz to Bring FROM THE GROUND UP to the Maj, Aug 29-31

Perth Theatre Trust has announced that Circus Oz will be bringing to the Maj, FROM THE GROUND UP, for four performances only from Friday 29 to Saturday 31 August 2013, with two special school performances on Friday 30 August 2013. Circus Oz features breathtaking feats, serious fun and Australian humour for audiences of all ages!

Formed in Melbourne in 1978, Circus Oz has toured the world as a rock'n'roll, animal-free circus with shows filled with breathtaking agility, death-defying stunts, awe-inspiring acrobatics and irreverent comedy that's always accompanied by a spectacular live band.

Premiering in Melbourne last year, From the Ground Up sizzles into His Majesty's Theatre - cranked up from touring regional Australia, a New York City run of standing ovations and hot from an extended season across America.

Circus Oz 2013: From the Ground Up hurls the 2012 show to new heights - it is a production that has been honed, road-hardened, made tight and allowed to play hilariously fast and loose. Expect the irreverent Circus Oz spirit, revel in seeing some of the company's much-loved characters again, and thrill at some daring new feats, as Mark Sheppard steps into the shoes of roving Indigenous provocateur destined to disrupt Circus Oz's ongoing brand of ridiculous tomfoolery that leaves audiences howling for more.

Performed around a set resembling a building site performers engage the audience in a two hour show that includes the ancient Chinese specialty straps, trapeze, juggling, acrobats, teeterboard and magic. Each show, like every Circus Oz performance in 35 years, will be a once off. With bold, courageous spirit, Circus Oz brings you daring, dynamic, quirky circus that will leave you on The Edge of your seat, steamed up and howling for more!

Since beginning international tours in 1980, Circus Oz has enthralled and entertained over two million people in 26 countries with their unique brand of Australian circus and humour.
