The announcement of today's Tony Award nominations marks this as a week for celebration and reaffirms the commitment of organizations that protect the survival of the arts. For those organizations, like the Dramatists Guild Fund (DGF), that commitment likely means shouldering a larger burden of funding and support. Today's celebration also coincides with the launch of the latest installment of 'The Legacy Project: Volume III' from DGF, featuring one of Broadway's best known and loved composers/lyricists, Stephen Schwartz, chatting with Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home) about storytelling through song. Dramatists Guild Fund Executive Director Rachel Routh and Board President Gretchen Cryer hosted their annual gala Great Writers Thank Their Lucky Stars, earlier this week on October 27 at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street). The Gala is the most critical fundraising event for the Dramatists Guild Fund, the public charity arm of the Dramatists Guild of America. The evening paid tribute to legendary writers and recognizes their significant contributions to American theater.

After releasing their debut album Our First Mistake and selling out venues across New York City, songwriting duo and Larson Award winners Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk (The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown, Henry and Mudge) hosted the final NY concert of YOU MADE THIS TOUR on Sunday, March 27 at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). In the following videos, Broadway veterans Mandy Gonzalez and Michal Arden sing 'How to Return Home' and 'Run Away with Me' respectively.
