PRIDE AND PREDJUDICE (SORT OF) opens tonight at the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End.  The cast of Isobel McArthur’s unique and audacious retelling of Jane Austen’s classic love story created a special video to celebrate opening night.

Men, money and microphones are fought over in this irreverent but affectionate adaptation, which includes pop classics such as Every Day I Write the Book, Young Hearts Run Free, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, I Got You Babe and You’re So Vain.

50 years ago, in the summer of 1969, the only group in pop-culture that could claim to be bigger than John, Paul, George and Ringo were Neil, Buzz and Michael. But 50 years down the line, in 2019, only ONE of those SEVEN names is actually in danger of going extinct in the collective imagination of the public at large.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE at Seattle Rep was adapted by Kate Hamill from the novel by Jane Austen. She imbues hilarious new life into this classic love story with a decidedly progressive take on the trials and travails of Elizabeth Bennet, Mr. Darcy, and, of course the delightful Bennet clan!
