South African Lion King performer Nhlanhla Ndlovu surprised the entire cast of Disney's The Lion King and his girlfriend, fellow cast member Daniela Cobb, by proposing on stage last night at the Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, NY.

The Lion King - the most successful title in musical theatre history - passes another historic milestone this week, welcoming its 100,000,000th guest worldwide. Since its Broadway premiere on November 13, 1997, 25 productions have played in 100 cities around the world on every continent except Antarctica.

Ashley Walters (Bulletproof, Sugarhouse) and Kane Robinson reprise their roles as 'Dushane' and 'Sully', joined by newcomer Michael Ward as 'Jamie' (The A List, Blue Story). The series features musical artists Simbi Ajikawo 'Little Simz', David Omoregie 'Dave'. Shone Romulus (Out) returns as 'Dris' and Ashley Thomas (24: Legacy, The Night Of, Black Mirror) returns as 'Jermaine'. New cast members include Lisa Dwan (Trust), Jasmine Jobson (Lie Low, Obey), Kadeem Ramsay (Sex Education, Blue Story), Saffron Hocking (London Kills, White Gold), Kola Bokinni (Hunter, Killer, Black Mirror) and Hope Ikpoku.

For the first time, Disney's legendary stage musical, The Lion King, goes where no musical has gone before. The seventh continent. The Lion King has played on every continent except one. On this day in 2000, The Lion King,reached its 1,000th performance at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Based on the animated film of the same name,  the show opened on Broadway November 13, 1997 and won the 1998 Tony Award for Best Musical.
