In honor of Sally Ann Howes' birthday, Rick McKay, the producer/director of THE GOLDEN AGE FILM TRILOGY, just unveiled a clip of Howes from the documentary film series in which she talks about Rex Harrison's frustration with young actresses playing Eliza in MY FAIR LADY, and why, at the end of his career, he wanted Howes to come back and play the role one more time. Anita Darian, a soprano whose four-octave voice earned her the nickname “The Armenian Yma Sumac” and spawned an eclectic 50-year career that ranged from performances with the New York City Opera, Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic to big-band jazz concerts, co-starring roles with Barbara Cook, and hit pop recordings that included “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” is dead at 87. A longtime resident of East Atlantic Beach, L.I., she died Sunday, Feb. 1 at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside of complications from surgery.

The late Lynn Redgrave has a ball singing Ira Gershwin and Kurt Weill's 'The Saga of Jenny' from Lady in the Dark. This video is taken from a PBS special called 'Musical Comedy Tonight 2,' the second of 3 specials put together by Sylvia Fine Kaye and featuring selections from classic musicals. Reprising the number with her are Danny Kaye and Richard Crenna. The special aired February 11, 1981.

Theatres on Broadway dimmed their lights for a minute on Thursday, March 19th in honor of one of its brightest lights, Natasha Richardson, who passed away on Wednesday from head injuries after a skiing accident.
