Showtime Documentary Films today announced it will premiere the new documentary HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN from directors Benjamin and Gabe Turner (Class of 92, I Am Bolt, One Direction: This Is Us) on Saturday, August 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The remarkable story of the legendary Motown Records is told through new and exclusive interviews with the label's visionary founder, Berry Gordy, and many of its superstar artists and creative figures, as well as rare performances and behind-the-scenes footage unearthed from Motown's vaults and Gordy's personal archives. HITSVILLE: THE MAKING OF MOTOWN is the first documentary about the iconic label with Gordy's participation.

On this day in 2013, Motown the Musical opened at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. 

Last night (8 March 2016) marked the opening of the West End production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL. With music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and book by Motown founder Berry Gordy, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is directed by Charles Randolph-Wright. Last month, due to public demand, a further 200,000 tickets were released for sale taking bookings at the Shaftesbury Theatre to 18 February 2017. Global superstar KATY PERRY will headline the PEPSI SUPER BOWL XLIX HALFTIME SHOW on NBC in University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on Sunday, February 1, 2015, it was confirmed last night in an unprecedented multi-media, global announcement.

On December 16th, Broadway star, Saycon Sengbloh (Motown The Musical / Fela), released her new single, Be Here, from her upcoming album. An Evening With Berry Gordy provides a rare inside look into the life and times of boxer, songwriter, producer, movie director, entrepreneur and Motown founder Berry Gordy. This one-on-one interview was taped in front of a live audience at the Art Institute of Chicago with PBS-TV journalist, Gwen Ifill, serving as the host interviewer.
