Entertainment Events Inc., and Waxman Williams Entertainment with Robert Dragotta, will present the US premiere of We're Still Hot, the award-winning musical from Canada, that tells the story of four 50+ women putting together a show for their 35th high school reunion. We're Still Hot, with a book by JJ McColl and score by Ms. McColl and Rueben Gurr, has taken Canada by storm, performing for sold out engagements in Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The production will star Josh Strickland as Tarzan, Jenn Gambatese as Jane, Merle Dandridge as Kala, Shuler Hensley as Kerchak, Chester Gregory II as Terk, Timothy Jerome as Professor Porter and Donnie Keshawarz as Clayton. The 2008 Miami Improv Festival presented by Just The Funny features headliner, The Groundlings, known best for creating much of the talent seen on TV's popular comedy shows: Saturday Night Live and Mad TV, and imports Los Angeles comic actors to Miami for two MIF 2008 performances. Since 1974, the Groundlings have been one of the most notable improv groups in the nation, boasting alumni such as, Phil Hartman, Will Ferrell, Julia Sweeney, Chris Kattan, Lisa Kudrow, and Michael McDonald. Producer Robert Greenblatt announced today that 9 To 5: The Musical, based on the 20th Century Fox motion picture, will begin previews on Broadway Tuesday, March 24, 2009, and will open Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Marriott Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway). 9 To 5: The Musical marks the Broadway debut of seven-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and musician Dolly Parton as composer and lyricist. The 37th Humana Festival of New American Plays, made possible by a generous grant from the Humana Foundation, opens with the world premiere of Sam Mark's The Delling Shore, directed by Actors Theatre's associate artistic director Meredith McDonough. The Delling Shore is playing in the Bingham Theatre and begins previews on February 27, opens March 1 and runs through April 7. Tickets are on sale now to the public and can be purchased at the Actors Theatre Box Office by calling 502-584-1205 or online at ActorsTheatre.org.
