Today in 1972, Broadway veteran Jude Law was born. In 1995, Law starred in the National Theatre transfer of Broadway's Indiscretions at the Barrymore Theater. In May 2009, Law returned to the London stage to portray the title role in Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Donmar Warehouse West End season at Wyndham's Theatre. In September 2009 the production transferred to the Broadhurst Theatre in New York.

As per ETOnline, Sherlock Holmes 2 is once again directed by Guy Ritchie and will be in theaters Dec. 16. This time out, we find Robert Downey Jr. returning as Holmes and Jude Law returning as Watson in turn-of-the-century London and facing their toughest adversary, Professor Moriarty, played by Jared Harris. Last week, rehearsals began for the upcoming Garden of Dreams Spring Talent Show, which will be held on April 28 at Radio City Music Hall and hosted by Whoopie Goldberg. Special guest Jane Krakwoski led the rehearsal with the kids along with the Radio City Rockettes, providing tips advice and comments on how to improve their technique, in dance and singing numbers, and how to find confidence in their own performance abilities. BroadwayWorld was on hand, and spoke with Jane about her experience with Garden of Dreams, where she finds her own inspiration, and when she might be returning to the stage.

Film and stage actor Jude Law played host on 'Saturday Night Live' on Saturday, March 13, where he performed the opening monologue, and a sketch later on in the show, referencing his recent stint on Broadway in 'Hamlet'.

The 2010 Olivier Awards will take place on 21 March 2010 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, with Spring Awakening, Enron, Jerusalem and A Little Night Music among the standouts of the season with the most nominations. The Laurence Olivier Awards were established in 1976 as The Society of West End Theatre Awards, and Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them in 1984. The Awards are run by The Society of London Theatre but are adjudicated by panels that are equally made up of members of the theatregoing public and experts chosen for their knowledge and professional experience.
