Theatregoers need not travel all the way to the underworld to catch Broadway's latest hit. Hadestown, following runs at New York Theatre Workshop, Canada's Citadel Theatre, and London's National Theatre, opened just last night at the Walter Kerr Theatre. The's 1999 cult-hit film starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon celebrated its opening night at downtown hotspot (le) Poisson Rouge last week.
