Today in 2011, the return engagement of the second Broadway revival of HAIR opened at the St. James Theatre, where it ran for 67 performances. Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical is a rock musical with a book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni and music by Galt MacDermot. A product of the hippie counter-culture and sexual revolution of the 1960s, several of its songs became anthems of the anti-Vietnam War peace movement. Hair tells the story of the 'tribe', a group of politically active, long-haired hippies of the 'Age of Aquarius' living a bohemian life in New York City and fighting against conscription into the Vietnam War.

The Actors Training Center Repertory Company,1122 Central Ave., presented the riveting 1960s rock musical HAIR in a limited engagement, April 12-14. The cast of the Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR were greeted at the stage door yesterday with a rendition of 'Aquarius' from their fans, a celebration by fans of the show's return to Broadway in its limited 10-week only 'Summer of Love' run. Check out the impromptu serenade below!

El reparto de Hair en Barcelona se reúne en el estudio de grabación para el primer medley promocional del musical, dirigidos por Sergi Cuenca. El show se estrenará el próximo 22 de Diciembre en el Teatre Apolo de la Ciudad Condal.

Ayer tuvo lugar en la Montaña Mágica del Parque de Diagonal Mar de Barcelona la presentación de la tribu de Hair, como final del proceso de casting iniciado el pasado 30 de julio y al que se han sumado más de 300 artistas. Julia Möller (La Bella y la Bestia, El Fantasma de la Ópera, Mar i Cel) será Sheila, Claude será interpretado por Joan Vázquez (Mamma Mia!), Jordi Coll (Fama) será Berger, Erika Bleda será Dionne, Marina Pastor (Fama) será Crissy, Chipper (Rent) y Ricardo Nkosi (High School Musical) alternarán el papel de Hud, Momo Cortés (We Will Rock You, Judas El Musical) será Woof y Xavi Duch (Spamalot, 40 el Musical) interpretará el papel de Hubert.

Más de 300 artistas se han presentado hasta ahora a las audiciones para Hair Love&Rock Musical, que se estrenará en el mes de Diciembre en el Teatre Apolo de Barcelona para realizar una breve temporada. El pasado día 27 tuvo lugar la primera fase de pruebas, y hoy día 30 de Julio, coincidiendo con una nueva jornada de audiciones, ha tenido lugar la presentación a los medios de este proyecto. En la rueda de prensa han estado presentes su director Daniel Anglés, la coreógrafa Esther Luengo y el productor ejecutivo Joan Lluís Goas.

New York City saw a different side of its typically conservative Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, when he donned extensions and hippie garb on stage with Broadway's cast of Hair at the Inner Circle fundraiser dinner on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at The Hilton Hotel. New York's acclaimed Public Theater, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, recently announced that 'HAIR', the 2009 Tony-Award winning musical, will open at the Gielgud Theatre on Wednesday 14 April 2010, following previews from 1 April. Tickets went on sale Friday 20 November 2009.

The complete Tony Award-winning, Grammy Award-nominated Broadway cast of HAIR gave a performance from the smash hit musical on New Year's Eve in the heart of Times Square.Diane Paulus, Director of HAIR, staged the number, which will air on NBC's 'Countdown with Carson Daly.'
