The American Theatre Wing and the Village Voice just presented the winners of the 60th Annual OBIE Awards. The Public Theater's Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda (including special citations for Andy Blankenbuehler, Thomas Kail, and Alex Lacamoire) received the OBIE Award for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $1,000 check. The Signature Theatre's Founding Artistic Director James Houghton received the OBIE Award for Sustained Achievement. VENUS IN FUR is currently playing at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The production will end its limited engagement at the Friedman on Sunday, December 18 and resume performances at the Lyceum Theatre on Tuesday, February 7. Tickets for the transfer of VENUS IN FUR went on sale yesterday and the production is a limited engagement through Sunday, June 17.
