Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong ended his limited engagement as St. Jimmy in AMERICAN IDIOT on October 3 and surprised the audience with a special encore performance. Check out this video of Billie singing his own 'Goodbye New York' following his final bow at the St. James.

On September 7, Ellen DeGeneres made an appearance in Broadway's PROMISES, PROMISES alongside Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. In the video below, DeGeneres visits backstage at the Broadway Theatre before her big debut. DeGeneres visited Chenoweth's dressing room where she met her dog, Maddie before being joined by Sean Hayes to practice breathing exercises with Hayes. DeGeneres then took the stage with the rest of the PROMISES, PROMISES cast to practice her singing.

As reported previously, Ellen Degeneres made a surprise cameo in PROMISES, PROMISES September 7, performing alongside Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth. Last night, September 28, Green Day frontman and the musical's composer/ co-author Billie Joe Armstrong made his Broadway debut as 'St. Jimmy' at the St. James Theatre in AMERICAN IDIOT. Armstrong will perform through Sunday, October 3, 2010. Immediately following this engagement, Mr. Armstrong will join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela on October 8, 2010 to kick off their South American Tour. Last night, September 13, the cast of AMERICAN IDIOT joined Green Day onstage for the halftime show of the NY Jets game at the New Meadowlands Stadium, performing a rendition of Green Day's Last Of The American Girls.
