Today, BroadwayWorld is thrilled to host the world premiere of a spectacularly sensational showstopper from the forthcoming soundtrack recording for the show-within-the-show on NBC's hit musical dramedy series SMASH, which returns at 9 PM this Tuesday, February 5 - 'Cut, Print… Moving On,' which acts as the Act One Finale, no less. The BOMBSHELL soundtrack itself - featuring show stars Katharine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Debra Messing and Christian Borle, as well as guest stars Bernadette Peters, Will Chase and more - hits on February 12.

SMASH makes its long-awaited return to the NBC lineup for a second season on Tuesday, February 5 (9-10 p.m. ET) and will continue in its regular time slot on Tuesday, February 12 (10-11 p.m. ET). Season two will feature a slew of new talent, including Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Jordan, Andy Mientus, Krysta Rodriguez, Sean Hayes, Jesse L. EW has an exclusive sneak peek of Jennifer Hudson's guest starring appearance on the upcoming season of SMASH. In the clip from Season 2's fourth episode, Hudson's character Veronica Moore sings a new original song, 'I Can't Let Go,' written by the show's composers and executive producers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Today in 2009, A Little Night Music opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it ran for 425 performances. A Little Night Music is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler. Inspired by the Ingmar Bergman film Smiles of a Summer Night, it involves the romantic lives of several couples. Since its original 1973 Broadway production, the musical has enjoyed professional productions in the West End, by opera companies, in a 2009 Broadway revival, and elsewhere, and it is a popular choice for regional groups. It was adapted for film in 1977, with Harold Prince directing and Elizabeth Taylor, Len Cariou, Lesley-Anne Down and Diana Rigg starring.

Happy Birthday Tom Wopat! Wopat first appeared on the Broadway stage as a replacement in the 1977 musical I Love My Wife, as 'Wally'. He then appeared as a replacement in the stage musicals City of Angels, and Guys and Dolls. He finally appeared in the opening cast of the 1999 revival of Annie Get Your Gun opposite Bernadette Peters, Susan Lucci and Crystal Bernard, who played Annie Oakley. In 2008, Wopat starred on Broadway as the father in the musical A Catered Affair, and received his second Tony nomination for that performance. Wopat recently originated the role of Frank Abignale, Sr. in the musical Catch Me if You Can.
