Today, Ben Platt joined the table on ABC's 'The View' to talk about Broadway's DEAR EVAN HANSEN, in which his character gets caught up in a lie. Platt described it as a 'super morally ambiguous show in a really beautiful way about the good things that can come from lies' and shared how he is able to cry and sing at the same time for every performance. Dear Ben Platt,  Today is going to be a good day, and here's why. Today, you're a Tony nominee! Self-professed theatre geek Ben Platt is living the dream as a first time Tony nominee for is performance as the title character in Dear Evan Hansen. DEAR EVAN HANSEN star Ben Platt stopped by today's 'Live with Kelly and Ryan' to discuss the Tony-nominated musical.

Earlier this week Dear Evan Hansen earned a whopping nine Tony nominations, including a nod for Best Musical. Now the show is thanking its many fans with a special compilation of the musical's anthem, 'Waving Through a Window.'

According to Rachel Bay Jones, being nominated for a Tony isn't as nerve wracking as she thought, but just, 'a big party, where I get to see the people that I love.' Rachel is one of the many people nominated from DEAR EVAN HANSEN, where her performance earned her a Tony nomination for Featured Actress in a Musical. Below, watch as she chats about what it's like to work with Ben Platt and how much she loves her fellow cast mates! 

Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, Rachel Bay Jones and the cast of Dear Evan Hansen parodied their show's anthem 'You Will Be Found' with the tale of a lonesome Easter egg, hidden and never found after this year's egg hunt. The egg finds solace in the accepting arms of the Broadway community, with special nods to a dozen current shows.
