The Cabaret is continuing its 10th year of music and merriment with a diverse selection of highly acclaimed artists.

Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts:

Camille Thurman, the talented composer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist, continues to make waves as one of the most exciting figures in the world of jazz with new performance dates in the U.S. and abroad. The triple-threat artist embarks on her second exciting season as a saxophonist with the world-renowned Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. The 2019-2020 season kicks off with a three-night stand, which started September 12, and runs through September 14, featuring the music of the 'South African Songbook: Celebrating 25 Years of Democracy' at its home base at Lincoln Center's Rose Theater in New York City.

Star of stage and screen Audra McDonald will launch Music Worcester's 161st Season on October 2nd at Mechanics Hall in downtown Worcester with an evening entitled a?oeSongs from the American Music Theater.a??

The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is thrilled to announce its 2019/20 season, including the imaginative Family Discovery Series, storied Broadway season, star-studded Jazz selection, captivating & educational National Geographic Live Explorer nights, and inviting free community events. Packages and select single tickets are on sale now. Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival, November 2 to 17, will feature 100 leading female artists at venues across Sydney - Bondi Pavilion, Pier One, Foundry616, Venue 505, The Newsagency, Joynton Ave Creative Centre and Studios 301.

When an iconic pianist like Chick Corea gets together with such modern masters as bassist Christian McBride and drummer Brian Blade, perhaps it should come as no surprise that the music they create together is absolutely magical. Their 2014 release Trilogy earned universal acclaim, including a pair of GRAMMY Awards (Best Jazz Instrumental Album and Best Improvised Jazz Solo for “Fingerprints”), and confirmed the trio as one of Corea's most revered ensembles.

Cortland Repertory Theater Downtown at 24 Port Watson Street in downtown Cortland is announcing their full fall schedule of quality entertainment.  Now in their 5th year in the new a?oeCRT Downtowna?? building, the theater continues to offer something for everyone, entertaining residents and visitors to Cortland in the fall and winter months.

Celebrated singer/actress Valerie Perri and her twin sons composer/singer/multi-instrumentalists Jack and Benny Lipson are set to bring their unique musical show All in the Family, directed by Barbara Epstein, to the Rubicon Theatre in Ventura for two performances only on Saturday, August 24 at 8pm and Sunday, August 25 at 2pm, it was announced today. In this special, personal evening of music, the family trio interprets selections from the playlist of their unconventional artistic home, spanning Broadway classics, 60s pop hits, and original compositions. Videos, photos, and amusing anecdotes from their lives on and offstage make for a colorful evening, showcasing three voices that blend with an ease only families can achieve.

Dubbed a?oeone of his generation's most artistically mature and innovative artists and a committed supporter of jazz education,a?? trumpeter and six-time Grammy Award winner Terence Blanchard will be the special guest artist for the Grand Rapids Symphony's 19th annual Symphony with Soul on Feb. 29, 2020, in DeVos Performance Hall.

September brings some of music's most iconic female performers including Motown stars Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Lady of Soul Oleta Adams and '80s icon Jody Watley. Local artists include the Honolulu Jazz Quartet, Henry Kapono presenting his Artist 2 Artist Concert Series featuring Blayne Asing, Elijah Sky and Mike Lewis's 2nd Annual Tribute to the Great City of New York. The Blue Note Comedy Series continues with comedian Esther Ku and '90s Alternative super group 10,000 Maniacs makes their Blue Note debut. We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Eddie Ortiz & Son Caribe and Yvette Moore presents a tribute to Gloria Estefan. Stef Mariani's invites you to her album release celebration of 'Highway of Love' and local favorites Good Foot Hawaii! take the stage. The Hawaii News Now Jazz Legends Series continues with Keiko Matsui and Lightnin' Larry Dupio presents an eclectic night of traditional and original Big Island blues. Willie K returns, electric blues guitar powerhouse Robben Ford takes the stage and the month rounds out with singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin.

The New Jersey City University Center for the Arts presents the 7th Annual NJCU Alumni Jazz Big Band Concert on Friday, September 6 at 6 p.m. on the J. Owen Grundy Pier, Exchange Place, in Jersey City. Conducted by Professor Emeritus Richard Lowenthal, this free concert features trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and vocalists Allan Harris and Antoinette Montague.

Front and Center, the critically acclaimed concert series that kicked off its ninth season last month, announced that popular indie folk band The Head and The Heart is featured in its next episode on public television (check local listings).

Continuing its season-long dedication to including live music in its programming, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) presents a world premiere from the collaborative forces of Ayodele Casel and Arturo O'Farrill. The Hoofer Award-winning tap dancer and the six-time Grammy-winning musician come together to pay tribute to their mutual roots in Afro-Latin culture at The Joyce Theater from September 24-29.
