The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the seminal film “Do the Right Thing” with writer-director Spike Lee

Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20 and opened last night, Jan. 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Grudge Match' stars award-winning movie legends Oscar winner Robert De Niro ('Raging Bull,' 'Silver Linings Playbook') and Oscar nominee Sylvester Stallone (the 'Rocky' films, 'The Expendables') as old boxing rivals who come out of retirement for one final match. 'Grudge Match,' a comedy starring film legends Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone as rivals in the boxing ring, will bow in the holiday season with a Christmas Day debut, moving up from its prior release date of January 10. The announcement was made today by Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) last night presented its Gala performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The complete cast of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE featured Glenn Close as Ruth, Rocio Del Mar Valles as Isabel, Montego Glover as Kate, Jonathan Groff as Frederic, Eric Idle as The Sergeant, Kevin Kline as The Pirate King, Norm Lewis as Samuel, Anika Noni Rose as Mabel, Martin Short as Major-General Stanley, and Betsy Wolfe as Edith.
