Detroit Repertory Theatre to Present MY OCCASION OF SIN, Begin. 1/9

The Michigan Premiere production of MY OCCASION OF SIN by Monica Bauer will have a Grand Champagne Opening on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Detroit Repertory Theatre at 8:30 PM. As is the tradition for Opening Nights at the Rep, a free Champagne Reception will follow the performance with the cast, crew, and playwright who will be flying in to see her play. Tickets for Opening Night as well as all performances through March 16, 2014 are $17 advance, and may be purchased by phone with no extra fees, or $20 day of performance. The Detroit Repertory Theatre is located in the center of the City, easily accessible from all major freeways at 13103 Woodrow Wilson, Detroit, MI 48238. Cynthia Nixon Set for Public Forum Drama Club's THE LONG CHRISTMAS DINNER,12/10

The Public Theater announced that Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon has joined the December Public Forum Drama Club event, The Long Christmas Dinner by Thornton Wilder, on Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Joe's Pub. In Public Forum Drama Club, authors, musicians, journalists, scholars, and actors come together to give onstage readings of one-act plays that have some special resonance in our lives today. Each reading concludes with a discussion of the hard questions that the play raises about our politics, our culture, and the way we live now.

In Richie's Fantastic Five: Kurosawa, Mizoguchi, Ozu, Yanagimachi & Kore-eda, Japan Society's Film Program honors Richie's legacy, presenting five timeless classics and hard-to-see gems over five months in glorious 35mm presentations. Curated by Hirano, a former Japan Society Film Program Director, the series highlights five seminal Japanese directors, who first became known throughout the world through Richie's work. According to The Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio, who's just coming off of Baz Luhrmaan's THE GREAT GATSBY, is set to produce and star in the film adaptation of Peter Berg's recently released biography, titled WILSON. Variety first reported the rumor yesterday, but THR has confirmed that DiCaprio's deal is done, and that the film will move forward once Warner Bros. signs on.
