The Castillo Theatre (Dan Friedman, artistic director, Diane Stiles, managing director) is opening its 28th theatre season with the revival of its first show, Friedman's The Learning Play of Rabbi Levi-Yitzhok, Son of Sara, of Berditchev, directed by Moshe Yassur, a veteran of the Romanian, Israeli and French stages and the former director of the Jewish division of the New Federal Theatre.

The Show Goes On Productions presents Ghost Dancer, a world premiere political drama written by Robert L. Hecker. Joshua A. Kashinsky directs a cast of seven including Reza Salazar* (TV: Louie, Law & Order: CI, Film: See Girl Run - 2012), Leajato Amara Robinson*, Jorge Acosta* (TV: 30 Rock), Luis Salgado* (In The Heights, Women on the Verge...), Lilia Vassileva*, Rosie Lani Fiedelman* (In The Heights), and Arturo Castro* (TV: We Are New York).

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Tyne Daly, Ben Vereen, Ann Roth, Daniel Sullivan, George White, Elliot Martin and Woodie King Jr., and Paul Sills will be inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame this year. The ceremony will take place on January 30, 2012, in the Gershwin Theatre. The event will be hosted by Estelle Parsons and hosted by Jerry Hodge Taylor.

The Ensemble Studio Theatre and Going to the River have lined up some of the most gifted women playwrights of color - some new, some established - for a three-week presentation of nine short, under 10-minute plays in return of the series The River Crosses Rivers, a three-week festival of short plays by women of color, previewing September 14 for an opening September 17 (runs through October 2) at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street.
