Broadway In Boston is thrilled to announce that Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will go on sale Sunday, October 28, 2018. Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will play at the Boston Opera House January 8 - 20, 2019 as part of the 2018-2019 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.   

Neo-Futurist Theater Presents TRUMP'S MUG: PORTRAITS OF THE PRESIDENT One Night Only

Continuing their 30th Anniversary Season, The Neo-Futurists get into the voting spirit with a one-night-only performance of Trump's Mug: Portraits of the President on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. At this evening of drinks, food, art and performance, writer-performers Hal Baum, Neil Bhandari, Kurt Chiang, Joanna Jamerson, Jasmine Henri Jordan and Lily Mooney read original essays portraying and satirizing the President's physical features, from complexion to hairdo. The company also reveals the works of four artists commissioned to make their own unique version of a "Presidential portrait" for Donald Trump - with audiences encouraged to vote for the final portrait Nov. 3 through Dec. 2, 2018 at The Neo-Futurist Theater.

Glimmerglass Film Days Announces Films For Sixth Annual Festival November 8-12

Glimmerglass Film Days will explore the theme “Passages” in Cooperstown November 8-12.  A program of Otsego 2000, Film Days features 32 films, 26 filmmakers and special guests, panels, receptions with local food and drink, a companion art exhibit, a pop-up bookstore, a free film for kids, and guided hikes.   

Vice Teams Up with Jason Derulo for 'Make Up' Featuring Ava Max

Vice has teamed up with global multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo for their brand new collaborative single “Make Up” featuring rising pop songstress Ava Max – available now on all DSPs via Atlantic Records. Arriving today with an equally high energy and sultry video companion, the track fuses Derulo's silky falsetto with Max's irresistible vocals for the ultimate “kiss-and-make-up” anthem. PAPER Magazine has already called the collaboration a “bop” describing the song and video as a “mix of sultry and upbeat pop funk.”

Aisle Say's favorite interview was yesterday, with King Arthur (Steve McCoy) of SPAMALOT, opening at The Playhouse on October 25 and running for 4 nights. Mais oui, a kindred spirit, but his career took a slightly different trajectory than mine; a 20-year-old moving to NYC in 1970, attempting to make it on Broadway (and failing miserably).

HATE BABY, HEDGEHOG YEARS, and HORSE LATITUDE Win Inaugural James Stevenson Prize For Comedic Short Plays

Playing On Air announced today the three winners of the inaugural James Stevenson Prize for comedic short plays. First Prize ($7,500, plus a Playing On Air recording for radio and podcast distribution) has been awarded to Hate Baby by Gracie Gardner. (Gardner is also the winner of the 2017 Relentless Award and author of the New York Times Critic's Pick Athena.) Second Prize ($2,000) has been awarded to Hedgehog Years by Lily Akerman. Third Prize ($1,000) has been awarded to Horse Latitudes (Who Wants to be an Equine Extra?) by Elizabeth Logun.

DM Playhouse Announces 2018 Dionysos Awards Recipients

The Des Moines Community Playhouse held the 2018 Dionysos Awards on Sunday, Oct. 14. The theatre honored 18 backstage, front-of-house, and education volunteers, and announced 10 acting award winners. The evening with a number from Billy Elliot The Musical, on stage now through Oct. 28.

Charlie Bucket has been found and he has a Golden Ticket! Producers John Frost, Craig Donnell, Warner Bros Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions today announced the four boys who will play the role of Charlie in the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Roald Dahl's delicious tale will be playing only in Sydney at Sydney's Capitol Theatre from 5 January 2019.

Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will play at the Providence Performing Arts Center, February 5 - 10, 2019. The Trews Join the 2018 CP Holiday Train Lineup

The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train will soon set out once again to entertain hundreds of thousands of people, celebrating 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for food banks across North America. The Trews will hop on board the 2nd leg of the trip with Willy Porter in Chicago to complete the trip through Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota before arriving at their final destination in Weyburn, Sask. on Dec. 16.
