Signature Theatre’s revival of the groovy Vietnam-era musical HAIR is wildly energetic, colorful, and full of spirit. The cast’s gorgeous voices and exuberance uplift songs that we know as the soundtrack of the times, from the opening “Aquarius” to the final “Let the Sunshine In.”

The Drama League (Artistic Director Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Director Bevin Ross) announced today the acting company for the 36th annual DirectorFest, the only festival in the United States dedicated to the art of contemporary stage directing. Directorfest will take place January 10 - February 4, 2020 at various locations around NYC: The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street), The Drama League Theater Center (32 Avenue of the Americas), LaGuardia Performing Arts Center (31-10 Thomson Avenue), and Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette Street). To celebrate the work of MTF's People of Color Roundtable on Monday May 20th, Musical Theatre Factory will present a one night only evening of new musical theatre works by and for people of color. These electrifying, witty, powerful, complex and poignant songs explore a range of stories told by the ones who are meant to tell it- songs about matters pertaining to race and just plain ol' humanity! Curated by Natasha Sinha and Ianne Fields Stewart. Reclaiming Our Time will take place at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette St) on Monday, May 20 at 7pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at mtf.nyc/events.

Jekyll & Hyde opened last night at North Shore Music theatre (NSMT) to yet another standing ovation and thunderous applause. Overall the evening was a winner.

Bill Hanney's award-winning North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) has announced recording artists, Broadway veterans, and 'American Idol' finalists Constantine Maroulis and Diana DeGarmo will lead the cast of their upcoming production of Jekyll & Hyde (September 25 - October7), under the direction of Broadway's original Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Robert Cuccioli.

To start, this article will probably not do this incredible production justice. The Engeman's latest, Jekyll & Hyde, The Musical is absolutely electrifying and the Broadway caliber cast is positively glorious. This is, without a doubt, a must see for the season. And by the reaction of the sold out audience on opening night, you may want to get your tickets quickly as this runs through April 30th.

A new production of THE GUYS, a play by Anne Nelson, opens tonight, Jan. 20, and will honor the 150th Anniversary of the New York Fire Department, Father Mychal Judge, OFM, the first certified fatality in the September 11, 2001 attacks and the Lt. Joseph G. Leavey Foundation. The play will begin at 7:30pm at the Davenport Theatre, a converted firehouse on West 45th Street, and will run through Jan. 23.
