The Film Arcade today announced it has secured the US rights to the hilarious heart-warming comedy, FAMILY, written and directed by Laura Steinel. The film premiered at SXSW 2018 and stars Taylor Schilling ( Netflix's “Orange is the New Black”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Atlanta”), Jessie Ennis (LIFE OF THE PARTY) and newcomer Bryn Vale. Additional cast includes Matt Walsh (HBO's “Veep”), Allison Tolman (“Fargo”) and Eric Edelstein (JURASSIC WORLD). FAMILY is set to be released theatrically by The Film Arcade in Spring 2019.
The Kennedy Center today unveiled an all-star lineup and new producers for the 21st annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which this year will celebrate Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Under the direction of the creative team from Done + Dusted, the Kennedy Center's new producing partner for the Mark Twain Prize, the cast will feature many of Louis-Dreyfus's admirers, friends, and collaborators, including Stephen Colbert, Bryan Cranston, Tina Fey, Ilana Glazer, Tony Hale, Abbi Jacobson, Keegan-Michael Key, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jerry Seinfeld. The live Gala Performance will take place on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. ET in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, and will be taped by WETA Washington, D.C.
The Groundlings Theatre has announced that Groundlings and SNL alumna, Julia Sweeney's brand new solo show, I, As Well, at The Gary Austin Theatre at The Groundlings School. The show opens on Sunday, September 16th, with six other scheduled performances to follow.

Linda Cardellini returns to Netflix in Dead to Me, which co-stars Christina Applegate. According to Deadline, the show is a half-hour dark comedy series from writer Liz Feldman, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gloria Sanchez Prods. and CBS TV Studios. Cardellini will also produce the series.

Freeform announced today that principal photography began yesterday on the 'Motherland' (working title) pilot, a one-hour drama from executive producers Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Kevin Messick. The pilot, created by Eliot Laurence ('Claws'), has started in Vancouver, Canada. Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the U.S. government to fight for their country, 'Motherland' (working title) follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment at Fort Salem.
