The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities kicks off its holiday season with the hit Broadway musical ELF- The Musical directed by Gavin Mayer, opening November 20, 2018. ELF -The Musical is based off the popular 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, which became an instant holiday classic. This charming musical, perfect for audiences of all ages, follows Buddy the Elf on his journey to find his true family and revive their Christmas spirit. The 2018 - 2019 Theatre Season Presenting Sponsor is Lutheran Medical Center.

Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30pm, with matinées on Wednesdays at 1:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm, through December 23. Audience engagement events, including a weekly theatre salon, insider talkbacks, and happy hours with the cast, are held throughout the run of the production. Additionally, a sensory friendly performance of ELF - The Musical will be held Sunday, December 16. Sensory Friendly Performances are designed to be welcoming and inclusive for individuals with autism, Down syndrome, sensory processing disorders and their families. ELF - The Musical is the story of one misfit's journey to find out who he really is, with mischief and music ensuing along the way. When Santa Claus tells him the truth about why he doesn't fit in with the other elves, Buddy begins a topsy- turvy trip to New York City to find his family. Through his love of singing and sincere passion, Buddy helps everyone regain their Christmas spirit and discover their own inner elf. Based on the cherished 2003 New Line Cinema hit written by David Berenbaum, ELF - The Musical , features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (Disney's Aladdin on Broadway, The Wedding Singer), with book by Tony Award Winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

In addition to director Gavin Mayer, the Arvada Center creative team includes Christopher Babbage (Music Director), Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck (Choreographer), Laura K. Love (Scenic Design), Bryan Hudson (Lighting Design), David Thomas (Sound Design), Phoebe H. Boynton (Costume Design) and Rod. A. Lansberry (Producing Artistic Director of Musical Theatre).

The cast features Josh Houghton (Buddy), Leslie Hiatt (Jovie), Mark Devine (Walter Hobbs), Maria Couch (Emily Hobbs), Tyler Fruhwirth, Austin Golinski, Harrison Hauptman (Michael Hobbs), Sharon Kay White (Deb), Anthony Simone (Macy's Manager), Colin Alexander (Mr. Greenway/Santa Claus), Nolan Baker, Joe Callahan, Adam Fontana, Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck, Emily Hin, Steph Holmbo, Jasmine Jackson, Justin Larman, Alexandra Palkovic, P.
