Ghost, Pantages Theatre/June 27 -July13/www.hollywoodpantages.com/ The musical stage adaptation of the 1990 runaway hit film of the same title that starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Oscar-winning Whoopi Goldberg. Despite its mixed reviews, the show, which originated on the West End, received 3 Tony nominations for its Broadway engagement. With book/lyrics by Bruce Joel and music/lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, Ghost's musical score includes the ever-popular 'Unchained Melody' and is bound to be an audience grabber.

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will air a special tribute in memory of Dr. Maya Angelou with encore presentations including “Super Soul Sunday, “Oprah's Master Class,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and the network premiere of “Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball” this Sunday, June 1 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN. Immediately following, “Oprah's Master Class” with Whoopi Goldberg will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

The Pasadena Playhouse has updated the performance schedule for two unusual one-person shows - Amy G in Entershamement and Joe Orrach in In My Corner - to reopen the newly re-designed Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Entershamement has a limited run of five performances, while In My Corner runs for one night only. With these shows, that perform today, May 22 to May 31, The Playhouse is relighting the refurbished Carrie Hamilton Theatre, which has been changed from a proscenium theatre to a black box, and can be configured to accommodate many different kinds of productions.
Sandblast Productions Blends Art and Technology at 1650 Broadway; Party Set for 6/4

Once America's most famous entertainment building, 1650 Broadway was home to musical luminaries Irving Berlin and Fats Waller. Legendary Carole King, Neil Diamond and Neil Sedaka wrote some of music's most memorable songs in its halls. Now a team of musicians and audio engineers at Sandblast Productions has opened a new sound facility at 1650, sharing building space with arts and entertainment giants Cameron Mackintosh, the New York Orchestra and Whoopi Goldberg, among others.

On Friday May 16, 2014, after over 3,811 shows, Barbara Walters signed off from “The View” in high fashion, drawing 5.2 million Total Viewers, ranking as the series' #4 telecast in its 17 year history. The telecast also generated its best ratings in over a year-and-a-half in Women 18-49 (818,000/1.3 rating) and Women 25-54 (1.0 million/1.6 rating) – since November 7, 2012.

Cast members of the national tour of Sister Act: The Musical have a new tradition: #SIC, or Sunday Intermission Covers! Every Sunday during the show's 15-minute intermission, cast members rush backstage to perform a quick cover of one of their favorite songs. This week, the nuns pay homage to Whoopi Goldberg and the original sisters by singing 'Follow Him' in the style of the 1992 movie hit 'Sister Act.' Ta'Rea Campbell (Deloris) and Ashley Moniz (Sister Mary Robert) are joined by nuns Roberta Wall (Mary Lazarus), Jessica Sheridan, Erin Henry, Carla Woods, Micaela Martinez, Natalie Storrs, Dawn Rother, Stephanie Hayslip, Amy Persons, and Angie Marie Smith.

Harlem's Mama Foundation for the Arts will celebrate its 15th Anniversary at its second annual Gala, which will take place at St. Martin's Cathedral (230 Lenox Avenue at 122nd Street) on Monday, June 16th from 6 - 9 PM. The special evening of food and entertainment -- which benefits Gospel for Teens, a program of the Mama Foundation for the Arts' School for Gospel, Jazz, and R&B Arts -- is graciously underwritten by Larry Scott and Lawrence Scott Events. Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award winner Whoopi Goldberg attended last night's performance of Broadway's new smash musical comedy Aladdin at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Following the performance, Goldberg went backstage to visit with Tony nominee James Monroe Iglehart (Genie), who was near tears at meeting one of his idols, and the cast. She lavished praise on his performance, calling it, 'the meaning of 'sensational!' Check out a look back at her visit below!
