Neil Patrick Harris Confirms He Was Initially Offered 'LATE SHOW' Gig

Neil Patrick Harris, once rumored to be a contender to replace David Letterman on THE LATE SHOW, confirmed today to Howard Stern that he was, in fact, initially approached to succeed the late-night host. Harris said CBS' Les Moonves and Nina Tassler also offered him Craig Ferguson's spot in the later show, though he eventually turned both gigs down.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 PM with a celebration of the pop diva Janet Jackson. After a highly-successful season at 54 Below, The Meeting* has returned to its downtown roots this year with shows through May. The Meeting* has been called "delicious and delightfully droll" by The New York Post, and "hilarious and sardonic" by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening "so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight." The May show will feature special guests Cole Escola, Nadia Quinn of "Summer & Eve" and John Early, with others to be announced.

Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce three upcoming special Saturday nights beginning Memorial Weekend on May 24 with Paula Poundstone. Richard Lewis will be on stage June 2l and audiences can spend "A Divine Evening with Charles Busch," accompanied by Tom Judson on July 26. All shows start at 8 pm. These special evenings include VIP ticket opportunity to mix and mingle with the artist at a cocktail party either before or following the performance, depending upon the night. The Pasadena Playhouse has updated the performance schedule for two unusual one-person shows - Amy G in Entershamement and Joe Orrach in In My Corner - to reopen the newly re-designed Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Entershamement has a limited run of five performances, while In My Corner runs for one night only. With these shows, that perform May 22 to May 31, The Playhouse is relighting the refurbished Carrie Hamilton Theatre, which has been changed from a proscenium theatre to a black box, and can be configured to accommodate many different kinds of productions.
