BWW Album Review: SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Bubbles Over With Relentless Optimism

You've seen him on your television screen for years, but now it is time for the sponge to take the stage. That's right, the one and only SpongeBob SquarePants is set to take a Broadway bow this coming November, in the rightfully titled SpongeBob SquarePants The New Musical. Before making it to the great white way, audiences were able to test the waters last summer when the show debuted at Chicago's Oriental Theatre. On September 22, 2017, audiences can also dive into the SpongeBob SquarePants The New Musical: Original Cast Recording, thanks to Sony's Masterworks Broadway.

Indoor Boys is a new web series (comedy/LGBT) created by and starring Wesley Taylor ("Smash"/"The Good Wife"/Broadway's The Addams Family) and Alex Wyse ("Marvel's Iron Fist"/"Masters of Sex"/Broadway's Spring Awakening). The short-form digital series - each installment is roughly 5 minutes in length - has eight episodes in its first season.

O'Neill National Music Theater Conference Artistic Director Steps Down After 40 years

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center announced today that Paulette Haupt, founding Artistic Director of its National Music Theater Conference, will step down following the 2017 season, after 40 years leading the program. The program began in 1978 after George C. White, founder of the O'Neill, invited Ms. Haupt to launch a new development program for music theater, in a similar mold to the O'Neill's groundbreaking National Playwrights Conference, launched in 1964.
