In celebration of the 25th anniversary of 'Beauty and the Beast,' The Walt Disney Studios and the Film Society of Lincoln Center presented an exclusive screening of the beloved animated classic at Alice Tully Hall. It was here, in September 1991, that a work-in-progress version of 'Beauty and the Beast' was first screened at the New York Film Festival -- and received a standing ovation. This 'tale as old as time' went on to break ground as the first animated feature film to receive an Academy Award® nomination, and twenty-five years later audiences of all ages continue to fall in love with this enchanting tale, its captivating characters and unforgettable, award-winning music score and original song, 'Beauty and the Beast.'

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Disney have announced a 25th anniversary screening of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, presented Sunday, September 18 at Alice Tully Hall.

This spring Japan Society continues to honor the late Donald Richie, whose criticism, commentary and advocacy contributed incomparably toward making Japanese art and culture, especially its cinema, revered throughout the world. As the second and final leg of the ongoing series, again curated by noted film scholar Kyoko Hirano, A Tribute to Donald Richie (1924-2013), Part 2: Richie's Electric Eight: The Bold & the Daring encompasses eight films that reflect the complexity, nuance, and brilliance of Japanese society, as seen through Richie's unflinching and insatiable eye.

REDCAT presents a stirring live multimedia presentation by award-winning video and media artist Paul Chan about an extraordinary community art experiment he spearheaded in New Orleans in collaboration with the Classical Theatre of Harlem and the public arts group Creative Time.
