Ghostlight Records has released the original cast recording of Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell online and in stores today, Friday, May 27.

This month, Broadway's Tony Award-winning, record-breaking musical smash Chicago will welcome back two-time Tony Award nominee Charlotte d'Amboise in a special return engagement as Roxie Hart beginning Monday, June 6. One of the most celebrated members of the worldwide Chicago family, d'Amboise holds the record for having played Roxie Hart more than any other actress in the history of the production -- more than 2,500 performances on Broadway and the road combined to date.

After watching O.J. Simpson getting found not guilty, the public seemed more willing to accept the musical's cynical look at life.

Broadway's shining at the moment with Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's new musical BRIGHT STAR, featuring Tony nominee Carmen Cusack, currently playing at the Cort Theatre. Last night's BRIGHT STAR audience was pleasantly surprised at the start of Act 2 when Steve Martin joined the band onstage for the Entr'acte. Martin, who wrote the show's book and composed the music with Edie Brickell, played the banjo. Check out footage from the surprise performance below!

Just In! The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2015-16 season in 25 categories.
