Stage & Screen Legend Patricia Morison Dies at 103

Stage and screen star, Patricia Morison died today at the age of 103 at home in Los Angeles of natural causes. A stage icon and legend best known for her starring roles in Cole Porter's Kiss Me Kate and The King & I opposite Yul Brynner, she established an indelible mark in films with a reputation as a the villainous femme fatale with large blue eyes and extremely long, dark hair that made her a favorite of studios and fans alike. 

LA/LA Officially Closes on 1/28 with Nearly a Quarter of the Exhibitions Due to Travel

Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA will officially close on January 28, 2018, after the presentation throughout Southern California of hundreds of concurrent exhibitions, programs, and events about Latin American and Latino art. With the support of $16.3 million in grants from the Getty Foundation, and five years of research and planning, more than 70 cultural institutions ranging from small community-based centers to the region's largest museums participated in this unprecedented, four-month-long exploration of the rich past and vital present of Latin American and Latino art.

PACIFIC STANDARD TIME FESTIVAL Announced for January 2018

The Pacific Standard Time Festival: Live Art LA/LA, a celebration of performance art presented as part of the Getty-led initiative Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, will run from January 11 through 21, 2018. Organized by REDCAT, CalArts' Center for Contemporary Arts, in collaboration with partner organizations throughout the city, the 11-day festival will feature more than 75 works by Latin American and Latino artists, performed at more than 20 indoor and outdoor spaces throughout greater Los Angeles. Supported by a major grant from the Getty Foundation, events will range from large-scale, site-specific performances to multi-artist evenings and will be presented in parks, plazas, galleries, theaters, and busy urban settings.

Renowned American parapsychologist Doctor Roy Earle, famous for discrediting hauntings and exposing fake mediums, is invited to attend a seance in what is said to be the most haunted building in England, a building with a horrific history, Blaine Manor. Even the locals won't set foot there, as all who walk within those grounds will be cursed.

FSLC Announces Spring Print Screen Events Celebrating Acclaimed Authors

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today four upcoming spring events in Print Screen, a recurring series bridging the worlds of cinema and literature, where authors present films that complement and inspire their work, followed by discussions and book signings.
