Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch return to Bemelmans at The Carlyle Hotel this month with their evening of swinging standards. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. Kristin Chenoweth was in Nashville last night, performing her critically acclaimed concert act just for me-oh, sure, there were another 2,000 or so people in the audience, as well, who thought she was singing just for them-but she and I both know the truth. She looked straight into my heart and sang every one of my favorite songs and, in the process, she touched my heart in a way only someone who really knows me can do.
On Monday night, Jim Caruso's Cast Party was a hotbed of activity, and not just because of the summer temperature! The jam-packed house was thrilled to celebrate the cast of Closer Than Ever, the Matlby-Shire musical review starring Jenn Colella, Christiane Noll, Sal Viviano and George Dvorskey, accompanied by Andrew Gerle. A few lucky (and knowledgeable) audience members even won tickets to the show.

On March 18, cabaret performer Jamie deRoy hosted an evening of her Multi MAC Award-winning variety show, Jamie deRoy & Friends at the intimate cabaret hot-spot Metropolitan Room.
Joining Jamie on this spring evening were classical violinist Daisy Jopling, comedy's lovable Queen of Mean, Lisa Lampanelli, ten-time MAC Award winner and three-time Bistro Award winner Karen Mason (Wonderland, Mamma Mia!); Tony Award nominee Valarie Pettiford (Fosse, Sophisticated Ladies), writer/comedian/political satirist and CBS & Food Channel personality Mo Rocca and award-winning songwriter (The River, Garth Brooks; Nobody Wants To Be Lonely, Ricky Martin & Christina Aguilera) and recording artist, Victoria Shaw.
