Santa Barbara Symphony Performs Rachmaninoff Program This Weekend

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of guest conductor James Judd, perform a pair of beloved masterworks by the famed Russian composer and virtuoso pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff at the historic Granada Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara this weekend, February 13 and 14. Also featuring captivating Canadian pianist Ian Parker as a guest soloist, the program will include Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini and Symphonic Dances, considered by many to be the summary of his musical genius.

New York Choral Society to Perform Arvo Part & Beethoven at Carnegie Hall

The New York Choral Society (NYChoral) and NYChoral Orchestra under the baton of Music Director David Hayes will perform celebrated Estonian composer Arvo Part's 1985 composition Te Deum in conjunction with Beethoven's Mass in C today evening, February 5, 2016, 8 p.m. at Stern Hall at Carnegie Hall.

Kansas City Symphony Sets 2016-17 Season

The Kansas City Symphony has unveiled its 2016-17 season, including Classical, Pops and Family Series plus special and holiday concerts. The Symphony also revealed individual seats will replace bench seating in the Helzberg Hall Choral Loft at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.

Canadian Opera Company's Ensemble Studio Recruits Seven New Artists

Toronto –   The Canadian Opera Company Ensemble Studio, Canada's premier training program for young opera professionals, welcomes seven outstanding new artists for the 2016/2017 season: sopranos Danika Lorènand Samantha Pickett, mezzo-sopranos Emily D'Angelo, Lauren Eberwein and Megan Quick, baritone Bruno Roy, and pianist Stéphane Mayer. The seven artists join the Ensemble Studio in August 2016 and become part of an illustrious program that, since its inception in 1980, has launched the careers of over 215 Canadian singers, opera coaches, mainstage directors and conductors.

PSO Chamber Concert with Chaleff & Zelman-Doring Set for 1/24

The Princeton Symphony Orchestra Chamber Series presents an afternoon of violin with sung and spoken word with PSO principal second violinist Alexander Chaleff, soprano Winnie Nieh, and poet Alexandra Zelman-Doring at the Institute for Advanced Study. The concert features works by composers Anna Clyne, Ralph Vaughn Williams, and Gustav Holst interspersed with Ms. Zelman-Doring's multi-lingual recitation of poetry related to the orchestra's season.

Jason C. Tramm Conducts Amore Opera's LA BOHEME, Beginning Tonight

Jason Tramm, Artistic Director and principal conductor of the Morristown based MidAtlantic Opera will lead the Amore Opera orchestra , chorus and featured soloists in Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme, arguably the world's most beloved opera. Directed by Nathan Hull, Amore Opera's fully staged production, with original sets designed by Richard Cerullo (for lower Manhattan's famed impresario Anthony Amato) opens tonight, December 18th and runs for 8 performances through January 3rd in the intimate 275 seat Loreto Theatre at the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New York City.
