Renowned Conductor Xian Zhang to Debut as NJSO Music Director

Internationally renowned conductor Xian Zhang makes her debut as the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra's 14th Music Director at venues throughout the state across two weekends, October 27-November 6 in Newark, Princeton, New Brunswick, Morristown and Englewood.

NJSO Presents PIRATES ON THE HIGH SEAS Family Concerts at NJPAC

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra takes concertgoers on a swashbuckling, sea-faring odyssey in "Pirates on the High Seas," its first family program of the season, with two performances on Saturday, November 26, at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Featuring music from the blockbuster film Pirates of the Caribbean, Rimsky-Korsakov'sScheherazade, Rodgers' Victory at Sea and more, this musical expedition explores how composers depict adventure and bravery on the high seas.

Something Is Beginning! RAGTIME to Open in London Next Week

It was the music of something beginning... Ragtime, the landmark Broadway musical, will play the Charing Cross Theatre (The Arches, Villiers Street), in London's West End, beginning October 8th and run through December 10th in a strictly limited engagement. Opening night is set for October 17th.

Princeton Symphony Orchestra Viennese Reflections Concert Features Violinist Leila Josefowicz

Resuming its usual time slot on Sunday, October 9 at 4 pm, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents Viennese Reflections Edward T. Cone Concert spotlighting one of the most important violinists of our time-Leila Josefowicz. Ms. Josefowicz performsAlban Berg's Violin Concerto "To the Memory of an Angel" with the orchestra under the direction of Rossen Milanov. Bookending the concerto is the world premiere of Julian Grant's PSO-commissioned work Is it enough? Perhaps it is… and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 9 in C Major, D. 944 "Great." The concert takes place at Richardson Auditorium on Princeton University campus.

After his "Recording of the Month" Gershwin album, the British pianist's new season ranges from the London Philharmonic to the Buffalo Philharmonic, from Grieg to John Ireland, from two national tours to a new CD.

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra Presents THE BRITISH ARE COMING!

Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra kicks off its season with resplendent works by three of England's finest composers. William Walton wrote Crown Imperial: Coronation March for the crowning of Edward VIII in May 1937. When Edward VIII abdicated, the work was instead performed for his younger brother, George VI. Vaughan Williams wrote his Piano Concerto in C for pianist Harriet Cohen. Performed with the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra by guest soloist Cristina Valdes, this virtuosic concerto pays homage to Bach while also expressing a percussive and exuberant energy. The program concludes with Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations in which each variation is inspired by and dedicated to Elgar's friends or loved ones.

New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Hosts College Night at State Theatre in New Brunswick on Today

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra hosts its first College Night of the 2016-17 season on opening weekend, Today, September 24, at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. A special $10 student ticket includes entrance to the Orchestra's 8 pmperformance featuring virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang, as well as a post-concert all-student party with light refreshments and live entertainment.
