The Vaclav Havel Library Foundation and Bohemian Benevolent and Literary Association will present the 2023 Rehearsal for Truth Theater Festival honoring playwright and human rights activist Vaclav Havel. From June 2 to June 14, the Bohemian National Hall will feature award-winning performances from the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, and the US.

Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of Not About Me, written and directed by acclaimed playwright Eduardo Machado. Not About Me will begin previews Friday January 13th with Opening Night set for Wednesday January 18th.

From February 2 to 19, 2023 La MaMa will present the world premiere of Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre's puppet version of 'Audience' by Václav Havel, translated and directed by Vít Horejš.

On Sunday December 11 at 2pm, there will be a presentation of the winners of the first David A. Einhorn Playwriting Prize The event will be held at the Triad Theater, 158 W. 72nd Street. The event will run 90 minutes and include readings of the 1st and 2nd prize winners, some words about David Einhorn, and a talkback on the topics addressed by the plays.

The International Free Expression Project, in partnership with the Center for Media Innovation at Point Park University, proudly presents Mai Khoi's “Bad Activist” at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Pittsburgh Playhouse's PNC Theatre. This performance is part of the Center's Media Innovator Speaker Series.

The 92nd Street Y announced today that Hanna Arie-Gaifman, longtime Director of the Tisch Center for the Arts, is stepping down from her day-to-day duties. In her 21 years of leadership, Arie-Gaifman oversaw the classical, jazz, and Lyrics & Lyricists concert series, as well as the Unterberg Poetry Center.
