Young Conservatory Director Craig Slaight is proud to announce the summer Young Conservatory (YC) Festival, featuring the world premiere of Snakes, a collaboration with A.C.T.'s Young Conservatory, A.C.T.'s Education and Community Program and Oakland's Destiny Arts Center, and I'm Still Standing, a celebration of the music of Elton John. Sadly, Holy Cross Church in Times Square was the location of such an occurrence on Saturday as a Requiem Mass for Jean-Claude Baker who committed suicide on January 15th 2015 was held at the historic church. Stagger Lee, which takes its title from the century-old folk song, is directed by Patricia McGregor with music by Will Power and Justin Ellington. Stagger Lee was partially developed in workshops in collaboration with the Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas as a part of Will Powers' Meadows Prize residency. Stagger Lee begins previews tonight, January 21 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, February 15.
