A brand new holiday musical for families with teens and tweens, but enough smart humor to keep adults entertained as well, will premiere in Chicago this holiday season. THE LAND OF FORGOTTEN TOYS a?" developed by Chicago-based non-profit company CPA Theatricals and produced in collaboration with Greenhouse Theater Center a?" is a completely original 90-minute musical about a brilliant young woman just out of high school and her quest to save Christmas.

The Greenhouse Theater Center and On The Spot Theatre Company present the U.S. premiere of the full-length drama SONS AND LOVERS, based on the novel by D.H. Lawrence and adapted and directed by On The Spot Artistic Director Mike Brayndick. SONS AND LOVERS will play August 29 – September 29, 2019 in The Greenhouse Theater Center'sUpstairs Studio, 2257 N. Currently playing in Lakeway, Texas, Aaron Sorkin's original work A FEW GOOD MEN has been brought to life, as part of at TexARTS Academy's Professional Series. The average person recognizes this title based on its Oscar acclaim as a Best Picture nominee, and infamous line referencing ones inability to handle the truth. But in fact, A FEW GOOD MEN has a more subtle beginning based on a conversation Sorkin had with his sister regarding her time in Cuba, at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. Premiering in 1989, and then adapted for screen a few years later, this play highlights an unlikely scenario between young men defending their honor and country while taking a hazing ritual too far. This courtroom drama introduces the audience to the military mindset, through chants and marches, and the responsibility involved with following orders without question. While investigating what seems like a 'cut and dry' case, a high level conspiracy is uncovered with regards to two young marines being charged with murder. As the story unravels, the audience can piece together the timeline and key facts the lawyers are desperately searching for within the case. TexARTs presents this play with high brow sophistication, without alienating members who have not served in the military but might have caught an episode of Law & Order.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts announces the 2016 recipients for The Bobby G Awards, a regional awards program for The National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Charlotte Movizzoand Curtis Salinger, the 2016 Bobby G Award recipients of the Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, progress to represent Colorado atThe National High School Musical Theatre Awards. Charlotte Movizzo played Charity Hope Valentine in Ponderosa High School's production of Sweet Charity. Curtis Salinger played Emmett Forrest in Durango High School's production of Legally Blonde.

Finalists for the fourth annual Bobby G Awards were released this afternoon. The awards program, which culminates in a Tony Awards-style ceremony and performance on May 26 at the Buell Theatre, celebrates outstanding achievement in high-school musical theatre in Colorado. This year the program was expanded to include 40 schools across Colorado, up from 30 the year before.

The music of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, those fabulous girl groups of the 50's and 60's and an Aaron Sorkin courtroom drama will light up the TexARTS Kam and James Morris Theatre during the 2016 - 2017 Professional Series.
