Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today the launch of an online ticket lottery for the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical, Cats.

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today that chart-topping British pop star Leona Lewis will play the role of 'Grizabella,' the Glamour Cat, in the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical, CATS. One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances beginning Thursday, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016.

Among the guests were Charles Busch, David Rockwell, Stephen Oremus, Bright Star's A.J. Shively, and two of Broadway's newest CATS, Tyler Hanes and Georgina Pazcoquin.

Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) will celebrate its 10th Anniversary with exciting new programming and expanded international destinations, including Russia and Brazil. The 2016 Summer Tour, GENERAT10N, will visit cities across the U.S. and Canada when it kicks off in Atlanta, GA on May 31, 2016. In each location, the premier non-profit performing arts training program will present an incredible roster of Broadway directors, performers, and industry insiders who will offer highly personalized musical theatre training and mentoring through unique, week-long performing arts intensive workshops for students of all ages, skill levels, and socio- economic backgrounds.

Now rumors are circulating that British singer Leona Lewis might take on the role instead. A source told the Daily Star that Lewis is Lloyd Webber's first choice to replace Scherzinger.

As previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber spoke to The Economist Radio this week and revealed that Nicole Scherzinger, who starred as Grizabella in the recent West End revival of Cats, had initially signed on for the upcoming Broadway production but changed her mind just before rehearsals got underway. Now, Scherzinger has responded to Lloyd Webber's 'furious' reaction, bearing no ill will toward the theatre legend.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) is bringing its unique brand of Broadway master class intensives to Russia, marking the first time in the country's history that Broadway professionals will offer programming of this kind. The renowned non-profit performing arts education organization is traveling a team of Broadway professionals to Moscow to offer a 10-day program for 60 professional and aspiring Russian performers, now through tomorrow, April 19, 2016. Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) announces a summer session of theater programs, ballet intensives and one-week creative camps, along with voice, instrumental and dance classes. The summer session runs from July 5 to August 26, with registration beginning March 7.
