Pacific Northwest Ballet Announces 2015-2016 Season, Which Features EMERGENCE, ROMEO ET JULIETTE

Artistic Director Peter Boal has announced to subscribers the line-up for Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2015-2016 season. Highlights include a program devoted to the work of American master choreographers George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Twyla Tharp; the return of popular works by Balanchine (The Prodigal Son), Robbins (The Concert), Christopher Wheeldon (Tide Harmonic), and Crystal Pite (Emergence); two story ballets (Romeo et Juliette and Coppelia), PNB premieres by Justin Peck, Jessica Lang, and Alejandro Cerrudo; a newly reconstructed Le Corsaire: A Pirate's Tale for matinee fanily audiences; and the unveiling of Balanchine's The Nutcrackerwith brand-new sets and costumes by Ian Falconer.

The Washington Ballet Announces Upcoming NEWMOVEMENT Performances

The Washington Ballet (TWB) is proud to announce the next performances in its recently launched series, theNEWmovement: rising stars of The Washington Ballet Studio Company. The shows feature TWB's Studio Company, an aspirant dancer group poised to become the dance stars of the future. Also featured, are members of the Washington School of Ballet's Trainee Program, Professional Track Program and the Washington Ballet @THEARC Performance Ensemble. Many current company artists of The Washington Ballet began their careers as members of Studio Company including Maki Onuki, Corey Landolt, Andile Ndlovu, Aurora Dickie among others. Many others have also moved on to dance in ballet companies throughout the world.

Washington School of Ballet Pronounced Best School at World's Largest Student Dance Competition

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington School of Ballet teachers and students competed against hundreds of participants in the regionals of the world's largest international student dance competition held in Pittsburg, February 13-15. TWSB won 'Best School', an honor reflecting numerous individual competition winners. The distinction is one that TWSB has received in past years at regionals. The school's Director, Kee Juan Han, won 'Outstanding Teacher'- an honor awarded to an instructor whose students show excellent training and consistent quality in execution. The mission of The Washington Ballet includes growing the next generation of dancers through its school, The Washington School of Ballet. “We're proud of the accomplishments of our students and we are honored to have received this recognition at YAGP regionals,” says Managing Director, Arthur Espinoza, Jr.

In a momentous co-commission, Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and Ravinia Festival, will present two new works by world-renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp November 6 – 8, 2015. Celebrating 50 years of creating dance for both modern and ballet companies, television, Broadway and Hollywood, the program will be seen throughout North America during a 10-week anniversary tour to 15 cities, honoring Tharp's five decades of dance-making. The new works, each comprised of 12 dancers—many whom have worked with Tharp over the years—will have music by J.S. Bach, Henry Butler, Steve Bernstein and John Zorn.

Twyla Tharp Will Hit the Road with New Works in 2015; Tour Will Visit Lincoln Center & More!

According to the New York Times, dance legend Twyla Tharp, whose choreography has been seen on Broadway in such shows as Movin' Out and Come Fly Away, is going on the road. The choreographer will celebrate her 50th year in the business with a national tour that will eventually make its way to Lincoln Center on November 22, 2015. The 15-stop tour will feature twelve dancers and new works to the music of Bach, Henry Butler, Steve Bernstein and John Zorn. An official schedule has not yet been announced.

Sasha De Sola & Tiit Helimets to Join Allen Civic Ballet & Allen Philharmonic in May

SASHA DE SOLA, soloist of the San Francisco Ballet, and TIIT HELIMETS, principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet, will appear in a joint production with the Allen Civic Ballet and the Allen Philharmonic, dancing the Black Swan Pas de Deux in Act III of Swan Lake on May 16, 2015 at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School in Allen, Texas. As part of their residency, both Ms. De Sola and Mr. Helimets will also be teaching master classes.

On January 29th, over 200 guests filled the Circle Ball Room at The Breaker's in Palm Beach for a thrilling evening of dinner, dance and music hosted by actor and singer Gianni Russo of "The Godfather" fame thanks to the efforts of a group of powerhouse chairs and committee members. International Chair was Herme De Wyman. Gala Co-Chairs were Anka Palitz, Jennifer Myerberg and Ann Van Ness. Dinner chairs were George J. Palladino and Jerrold St. George. Billy Joel Adds 24th Concert at Madison Square Garden

Madison Square Garden Entertainment announced today that legendary musician and Garden franchise Billy Joel has added a 24th show as part of his record-breaking residency at The World's Most Famous Arena on December 17, 2015 at 8:00PM. The December show, part of the Time Warner Cable Concert Series, will be Joel's 70th all-time performance at The Garden.
