Tony Plana, Anthony Chisholm & More to Lead Second Stage's THE HAPPIEST SONG PLAYS LAST; Full Cast Announced

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director), currently celebrating its 35th Anniversary season, has announced the complete cast for its upcoming production of THE HAPPIEST SONG PLAYS LAST, written by 2012 Pulitzer Prize winnerQuiara Alegria Hudes and directed by Tony Award winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. The company will feature ANTHONY CHISHOLM (Radio Golf, Jitney), DARIUSH KASHANI (Homebody/Kabul), TONY PLANA (Ugly Betty), ARMANDO RIESCO (2ST's Water by the Spoonful), ELIZABETH RODRIGUEZ (Motherf***er with the Hat, Orange is the New Black), and ANNAPURNA SRIRAM (Pericles at Berkeley Rep).

Asolo Rep Adds I LOVED, I LOST, I MADE SPAGHETTI to 2013-14 Season

Asolo Repertory Theatre is proud to add I LOVED, I LOST, I MADE SPAGHETTI to its 2013-2014 season. Jacques Lamarre's saucy stage adaptation of Giulia Melucci's memoir will star Antoinette LaVecchia as Melucci, an Italian-American writer living in Brooklyn with an entertainingly unsuccessful love life. Previews for the show will be held May 18 and May 20, 2014 and the show will run from May 21 through June 15, 2014 in Asolo Rep's Cook Theatre.

Darnell Williams Will Return to NYC Stage in Mark Eisman's SIGHTLINES at The Cell, 11/23-12/15

The cell - a 21st century salon and The Custom Made Theatre Company present Darnell Williams and Tamara Scott in Mark Eisman's Sightlines. Take a journey with two strangers that come together in the strangest of places, grasping in the dark for a human connection that will guide them out of the "rabbit hole." Partial Comfort Productions (Drama Desk nominee A Bright New Boise) continues its acclaimed World Premiere of AND MILES TO GO by Chad Beckim. Directed by Hal Brooks (Pulitzer Prize finalist Thom Pain), performances run through November 2 at The Wild Project.

Playwrights Horizons Closes MR. BURNS, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY Today

Playwrights Horizons presents its New York premiere production of Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play, a new play by Anne Washburn, with music by Obie Award winner Michael Friedman. Directed by Steve Cosson, the Obie Award-winning Artistic Director of The Civilians, Mr. Burns is being presented as the first production of Playwrights Horizons' 2013/2014 Season.

Dallas Theater Center Stages CLYBOURNE PARK in Rep with A RAISIN IN THE SUN, Now thru 10/27

Dallas Theater Center has announced the regional premiere of Clybourne Park, running in rotating rep with A Raisin in the Sun, to launch the theater's 55th season. Clybourne Park will be directed by DTC Associate Artistic Director Joel Ferrell. Clybourne Park begins with a Pay-What-You-Can performance tonight, October 4 and runs through Sunday, October 27 at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Gideon Glick, Eva Kaminsky & More to Star in Old Globe's THE FEW; Full Cast Announced

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the World Premiere comedy The Few by award-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale). Directed by Davis McCallum, The Few will run Sept. 28 - Oct. 27, 2013 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Sept. 28 - Oct. 2. NYTW Presents FETCH CLAY, MAKE MAN Starring Nikki M James, Ray Fisher, K. Todd Freeman & More, Beg. Today

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola has announced that Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff, will begin performances tonight, August 23 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

Berkeley Rep Hosts Public Discussion About Sports Head Injuries Today

To kick off the development of one its newly commissioned plays, The Ground Floor-Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work---invites the public to a round-table discussion on the subject of sports head injuries. The American Football Project by playwright KJ Sanchez, based on interviews with players, coaches, medical staff, trainers, parents of young athletes, and other stakeholders, will explore how issues surrounding head injuries are affecting current and former players, what impact this information is having on standard practices, and how this might change the game. Berkeley Rep, in collaboration with Baltimore's Center Stage, has commissioned The American Football Project from American Records, a theatre company devoted to making plays that chronicle our time and serve as a bridge between people.

THE BANANA MONOLOGUES Closes Tonight Off-Broadway

'The Banana Monologues' will close today, August 4th; playing 36 performances and 13 previews. Gregory Taft Gerard presented the Off Broadway production at the Acorn Theatre (Theatre Row) 410 West 42nd Street. He stated 'We have been getting an enthusiastic response from the audiences during this very busy hot summer. We are looking forward to a return engagement in New York City and limited performances in select cities across the country.'
