Partial Comfort to Present AND MILES TO GO at The Wild Project, Begin. 10/2

Partial Comfort Productions (Drama Desk nominee A Bright New Boise) kicks off it's 11th season with the World Premiere of AND MILES TO GO by Chad Beckim. Directed by Hal Brooks (Pulitzer Prize finalist Thom Pain), previews begin October 2 at The Wild Project. Opening night is slated for Thursday, October 10.

Berkeley Rep to Host Public Discussion About Sports Head Injuries, 8/5

To kick off the development of one its newly commissioned plays, The Ground Floor-Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work---invites the public to a round-table discussion on the subject of sports head injuries. The American Football Project by playwright KJ Sanchez, based on interviews with players, coaches, medical staff, trainers, parents of young athletes, and other stakeholders, will explore how issues surrounding head injuries are affecting current and former players, what impact this information is having on standard practices, and how this might change the game. Berkeley Rep, in collaboration with Baltimore's Center Stage, has commissioned The American Football Project from American Records, a theatre company devoted to making plays that chronicle our time and serve as a bridge between people.

Goodman Theatre's 2012-13 Playwrights Unit Presents Free Staged Readings, Now thru 8/16

Goodman Theatre presents four free staged readings of new plays developed in the Playwrights Unit, a season-long residency program for local writers who meet twice monthly with members of the theater's artistic staff to discuss their plays in progress. Out of this process emerges four brand new plays, which appear in FREE staged readings: Sleeping with the Prince of Darkness: The Imagined Pillow Talk of FBI Agent John O'Neill by Greg Allen (July 20 at 7:30pm); F(law)less by christopher oscar peña (July 21 at 2:30pm); Prowess by Ike Holter (July 21 at 7:30pm); and Ninth Man Out by Alice Austen (August 16 at 7:30pm).

THE BANANA MONOLOGUES Begins New Performance Schedule Today

Gregory Taft Gerard is presenting 'The Banana Monologues' Off Broadway, at the Acorn Theatre (Theatre Row) 410 West 42nd Street. The 80-minute relationship comedy stars John R. Brennan and is directed by Debra Whitfield. The play is written by John R. Brennan, Jason C. Cooper and Mary Cimino and features Scenic Design by Roman Tatarowicz and Lighting Design by Deborah Constantine. The show will begin its new performance schedule today July 20th, playing Saturday at 8:00pm; Sunday at 3:00pm; Monday at 8:00pm; Thursday at 8:00pm and Friday at 8:00pm.

NYTW Presents FETCH CLAY, MAKE MAN Starring Nikki M James, Ray Fisher, K. Todd Freeman & More, 8/23

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola has announced that Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff, will begin performances Friday, August 23 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

SONG MOMENTS: DANIEL MATE IN CONCERT Set for NYMF Today

The New York Musical Theater Festival presents a one-night-only staged concert featuring the music and lyrics of the 2013 Kleban Award-winning writer Daniel Mate tonight, July 15th, with performances at 6:30pm and 9:30pm.

Broadway Couple Nikki Renee Daniels and Jeff Kready Welcome a Baby Girl!

According to posts on their Facebook pages, Broadway couple Nikki Renee Daniels and Jeff Kready welcomed a baby girl, Lena Renee Kready, into the world at 6:58 this morning. 'Mother and daughter are doing fine. Father is delirious,' Kready wrote on his Facebook page.

Rattlestick's BASILICA To Extend Through June 22

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater's Artistic Director David Van Asselt and Managing Director Brian Long have announced that the world premiere of Basilica, written by Mando Alvaradoand directed by Jerry Ruiz, will extend for one week though Saturday, June 22, at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street.
