Tonight, 26 October 2010, as Ray Meagher, best known on television for playing Alf Stewart in the long running Australian soap Home and Away, officially joins the West End cast of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical as in Toronto, Canada, the North American production of the show celebrates its opening night.

Emily Bruni (Harriet), Lucy Cohu (Sylvia Gellburg), Nigel Lindsay (Dr Harry Hyman), Madeleine Potter (Margaret Hyman) Brian Protheroe (Stanton Case) and Antony Sher (Philip Gellburg) are the full cast in Arthur Miller's Laurence Olivier Award winning play Broken Glass, directed at the Tricycle Theatre by Iqbal Khan.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert begins a 12 week pre-Broadway run Oct 12th in Toronto at the Princess of Wales Theatre. BWW is thrilled to bring you a series of interviews with the cast and crew behind the show. First up is Tim Chappel, the Academy Award Winning Costume Designer.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the pre-Broadway North American company of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott and directed by Simon Phillips will star Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon ('Bernadette'), Tony Award nominee Will Swenson ('Tick'/ 'Mitzi') and Nick Adams ('Adam'/'Felicia') as the trio of friends on a heart-warming, uplifting adventure who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship in the middle of the Australian outback and end up finding more than they could ever have dreamed.

The cast for the Tricycle's Women, Power and Politics - a season exploring the history and current role of women in politics in Great Britain - will comprise Simon Chandler, Oliver Chris, Claire Cox, Heather Craney, Niamh Cusack, Stella Gonet, John Hollingworth, Amy Loughton, Tom Mannion, Kika Markham, Lara Rossi and Felix Scott.

Indhu Rubasingham directs Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize winning Ruined, previewing at the Almeida from 15 April, with press night on 22 April and booking until 5 June 2010. Designs are by Robert Jones with lighting by OIiver Fenwick, original music by Dominic Kanza and sound by Christopher Shutt.

As previously reported, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical will celebrate a year in the West End on 23 March 2010 having completed over 425 performances at the Palace Theatre since its opening last year. From 8 March Jason Donovan (Tick) and Oliver Thornton (Adam) will be joined by Don Gallagher as Bernadette, as booking for the show extends until 26 February 2011. Over the summer (6 June - 5 September 2010) there will be Sunday performances of Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical at 3pm. The show is reportedly Broadway-bound thereafter in 2011.

Nicolas Kent will direct the World Premiere of Frank McGuinness' Greta Garbo Came to Donegal which runs from 7 January to the 20 February, with press night on 11January 2010. Design is by Robert Jones with lighting by Matthew Eagland and sound by Tom Lishman.

Seize the Day is part of the Not Black and White season at the Tricycle Theatre, examining the state of Britain at the end of the first decade of the twenty first century. The first production photos have been released.

Jimmy Akingbola, Aml Ameen, John Boyega , Karl Collins, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Abhin Galeya, Jaye Griffiths, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Amelia Lowdell, Cecilia Noble, Rebecca Scroggs and Robert Whitelock are the full cast announced for the Not Black and White season - three plays to be presented by the Tricycle Theatre examining the state of Britain at the end of the first decade of the twenty first century.

According to casting notices and comments from official production representatives, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical will makes it way to Broadway in March 2011. The scheduled date for the 'her' arrival is March, 6th, 2011 according to production officials. There is no theatre or casting set at this time.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical is playing at Palace Theatre, Cambridge Circus, London W1 through May 2010.

Spring Awakening will end performances at the Novello Theatre today, May 30th. The musical was originally set to run until October 31st, 2009, but has closed earlier than expected.

The smash hit musical WICKED, which recently celebrated its 1000th performance, is pleased to welcome Sam Kelly as The Wizard and Natalie Anderson as Nessarose from Monday 11 May 2009. The production also welcomes back Alexia Khadime as Elphaba.

Philip Howard's sell-out Traverse Theatre Company production of David Greig's Damascus is to be presented at the Tricycle Theatre by Michael Edwards and Carole Winter for MJE Productions. Damascus will run from 3 February - 7 March 2009 with press night on Monday 9 February. Designs are by Anthony Macllwaine, lighting is by Chahine Yavroyan, the composer/arranger is Jon Beales and sound is by Graham Sutherland. The original Traverse Theatre Company cast - Nathalie Armin, Alex Elliott, Dolya Gavanski, Paul Higgins and Khalid Laith - will reprise their roles.

Howard Panter, the dynamic UK co-founder of the Ambassador Theater Group, the producing company and owner of 23 London theatre venues, is setting his sights on Broadway in a VERY big way reports Variety. The trade paper reports that he has created an ambitious list of new projects targeting for Broadway -- including a handful of productions and in very exciting news, a possible new theater space.
