South Florida theater fans are in for an array of Broadway hits as the awesomely cool, ROCK OF AGES, opens the all musical Broadway in Miami 2012 - 2013 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County. Scheduled to launch the season with a bang, from October 9-14, ROCK OF AGES will be followed by the high-stepping Broadway Musical for the entire family, MARY POPPINS, set to bring in the New Year, January 1-6; the return of the world's greatest musical, LES MISÉRABLES, in a brand new 25th anniversary production, February 26 - March 3; the outlandishly colorful PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will keep audiences on their feet with its parade of dance-floor favorites, April 2-7; and Best Musical Tony Winner of 2010 MEMPHIS will make its triumphant Miami debut with its explosive dancing and powerhouse songs, May 7-12.

The National Theatre of Great Britain's acclaimed production of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS begins previews on April 6 and the official opening is April 18, 2012 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) on Broadway. ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS is a comedy by Richard Bean, based on Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters, with songs by Grant Olding, directed by Nicholas Hytner. The National Theatre presents the third season of National Theatre Live (NT Live), a successful initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide. In addition to the previously scheduled broadcasts of The Comedy of Errors (March 1), the season will include Travelling Light (February 9) and She Stoops to Conquer (March 29). Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world. Following sell-out success at Chichester Festival Theatre, Jonathan Kent's acclaimed production of Sweeney Todd transfers to London's West End for a limited season from 10 March 2012. Widely acknowledged as Stephen Sondheim's musical masterpiece, Sweeney Todd stars distinguished musical performer Michael Ball as the eponymous demon barber of Fleet Street and Oscar-nominated actress Imelda Staunton as the devoted Mrs Lovett. Following on from Sunday in the Park with George, Little Shop of Horrors, La Cage aux Folles, A Little Night Music and Sweet Charity, the Menier Chocolate Factory is currently presenting Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson's Pippin. Pippin began previews on Tuesday, 22 November, opened officially last night, 7 December, and will run through 25 February, 2012. Buzz about West End and Broadway transfers of the production has already begun, with Stephen Schwartz fully supportive of both ideas.

Opening tonight at the Adelphi Theatre is Nicholas Hytner's five star award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors.

Nicolas Kent will direct A Walk in the Woods by Lee Blessing, with Steven Crossley (Andrey Botvinnik) and Myriam Cyr (Joan Honeyman) reprising their roles from the Northern Stage, Vermont production.

On June 29, 2011, The Bridge Project opened Richard III starring The Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey at The Old Vic in London. The production will embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York in January 2012. According to Whatsonstage.com, Priscilla Queen of the Desert might finish its West End run at the end of December 2011. A publicist for the show told Whatsonstage, 'The producers of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical made the decision today to inform the London cast and crew of the likelihood that the show would end its three-year run in the West End at the end of 2011. No formal notice has been given.'

Nicolas Kent directs the world premiere of Tactical Questioning: Scenes from the Baha Mousa Inquiry, edited by Richard Norton-Taylor. The production, which examines the British Army's handling of detainees in Iraq and the death of Baha Mousa in 2003, will run at the Tricycle Theatre from 2 June until 2 July, with press night on 6 June 2011. Designs are by Polly Sullivan, with lighting by Charlie Hayday and sound and projections by Ed Borgnis.

Based on the Oscar® award-winning film Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical tells the story of Tick, Bernadette and Adam, a glamorous Sydney-based performing trio who agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback. PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL stepped onto Broadway in high style when performances began on Monday night. Luxury shoe designer Manolo Blahnik has unveiled his exclusive silver patent leather Mary Jane high heel adorned with a Swarovski crystal button as the official stiletto of the production - marking the first time in history Manolo's iconic shoe has been inspired by a Broadway musical.
