Desert Ensemble Theatre Company (DETC) today announced the company's ninth season.

Desert Ensemble Theatre Company (DETC) announced its ninth anniversary season which will include a musical revue 'On The Twenty-First Century' and the award winning plays 'Adoption Roulette', 'Surviving The Apocolypse' and 'Man And Wife'.Artistic Director Jerome Elliott stated: "In reading scripts for 2019­-20, we reaffirmed our commitment to providing Desert audiences an experience of adventure and discovery with a season of inventive and groundbreaking theatre. This process led us to a diverse group of plays including a world premiere and two new works not previously produced in Southern California."

The 2019 Jessie Nominations Party announced the nominees for the theatre awards on Monday, June 3rd at the iA Financial Group Atrium at the BMO Theatre Centre, 162 West 1st Avenue, honouring Vancouver's vibrant artistic community.

The Fresh Voices showcase of original works returns to the Touchstone Theatre stage on June 7 and 8, 2019. The annual event is a celebration of new theatre, featuring original works-in-progress by Alyssa Lou Ann Allen, Touchstone's 2018-19 apprentice. 

Touchstone Theatre presents the fourteenth year of its acclaimed Young Playwrights' Festival. This showcase of new plays written by local elementary, middle, and high school students performs on May 18th at Zoellner Arts Center's Baker Hall. The evening concludes with a post-show gala reception in the Lehigh University Black Box Theatre.

Antic in a Drain (Artistic Director, Ross Travis) proudly presents its world premiere production of Tempting Fate, a satirical sideshow entertainment reflecting the house of mirrors called climate change. Balk at the science, bemoan the social impacts, and scream in horror at the political divide. You'll find yourself laughing at the grotesque hyperbole, and the fantastically fecund characters bedecked in disdain and hubris. See Mother Earth talk trash to those who bite her tit while suckling her life-giving abundance.

Touchstone Theatre and Moravian College partner together to host acclaimed Japanese performance artist Keiin Yoshimura in her US premiere. Her two-week residency begins on Moravian College's campus as part of their yearlong focus on War and Peacebuilding. Followed by four performances of her solo work Sakura on April 11-14, 2019 at Touchstone's home theatre at 321 East Fourth Street in Southside Bethlehem.

Following its critically acclaimed world premiere at Vancouver's Touchstone Theatre, the first Toronto production of the gripping new drama, C'mon Angie! by Amy Lee Lavoie will be presented by Leroy Street Theatre and The Spadina Avenue Gang.

Touchstone Theatre presents its third annual Jakopa's Punch Bowl concert fundraiser on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 7-10pm at the Charles A. Brown Ice House. This Mardi Gras-themed evening of eclectic music by local bands, New Orleans-style lite fare, and all-you-can-drink beer and wine supports upcoming original works at Touchstone.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces an extension of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas adapted by David Kersnar and Althos Low, from the books by Jules Verne, directed by Ensemble Member David Kersnar. Due to high ticket demand, additional dates, August 30 - September 9, 2018, have been added. 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas plays at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. This marks the second and final extension of the production.
