Aurora Theatre Company continues its dynamic 27th season with an Aurora classic, Oscar Wilde's THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Newly announced incoming artistic director Josh Costello (Eureka Day, The Heir Apparent, Detroit) directs this uproarious farce about two young couples in the pursuit of love that upends social conventions with wildly subversive humor.

Michael Tilson Thomas Honored By The Museum Of Performance + Design For Outstanding Leadership In The Arts

The Board of the Museum of Performance + Design takes great pleasure in announcing that Michael Tilson Thomas will be presented with the 2019 San Francisco Arts Medallion for his outstanding leadership in the arts on May 14, 2019, at Saint Joseph's Arts Society in San Francisco. The San Francisco Arts Medallion was created in 2005 by the Museum of Performance + Design (MP+D) to recognize those individuals whose leadership, action, and generosity have benefited the cultural life of the San Francisco Bay Area. Proceeds from the event benefit the preservation and educational programs at MP+D.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast for The Good Book. After bringing the successful production of An Iliad to theatres around the country including Berkeley Rep, Tony Award-winner Denis O'Hare and Obie Award-winner and Associate Director Lisa Peterson are teaming up once again to unearth the all-too-human formation of the most influential book in Western history - the Bible. In addition to collaborating with O'Hare on the script, Petersen will also direct The Good Book.

With extraordinary access to his creative process, the film traces the evolution of his latest success, Tony-nominated play Latin History for Morons, from its challenging premise through its triumphant debut. A special co-presentation of Great Performances and Latino Public Broadcasting's VOCES, John Leguizamo's Road to Broadway, directed by Ben DeJesus, premieres nationwide Friday, November 16 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). The film will be available for streaming on November 17 at pbs.org/gperf and on PBS apps.
