The North American premiere of SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE opened on Saturday night at the Stratford Festival's Avon Theatre. This feel-good production is full of hilarious characters, stunning costumes, and clever references to the works of William Shakespeare. Most of all, though, it is full of heart.

THE LION THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (from Schulich Children's Plays) opened at Stratford Festival's Avon Theatre on what became a magical Thursday evening. Based on the book by C.S. Theresa Rebeck's ambitious comedy, SEMINAR tells the story of four young writers who learn that sometimes the truth hurts after they hire Leonard, a famous novelist to mentor them for a 10-week master class. Rebeck is best known as the creator of the beloved television series Smash, and previous theatre works that include Dead Accounts and Mauritius.

David Mirvish announces additional shows and new details about his 2015-16 theatre season. Consisting of seven shows in the Main Subscription and three shows in the Off-Mirvish Subscription, the season also has eight shows that will be presented outside of subscription. In total, Mirvish will produce and/or present 18 shows in four different theatres - The Royal Alexandra, The Princess of Wales, The Ed Mirvish and The Panasonic.

The Stratford Festival comes to CBC-TV this September with spectacular performances of KING LEAR, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA and KING JOHN, captured live in HD and presented uninterrupted. These productions are the first in the Stratford Festival HD initiative, which will see all of Shakespeare's plays filmed over the next 10 years, making them available to audiences nationwide and around the world.
