Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are proudly open this June with a full slate of nightly performances! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the Liebman, Brecker, Copland Quintet, Greg Ruvolo Big Band, Yellowjackets, Terraza Big Band, Anita Gillette and Lee Roy Reams, Frank Catalano Quartet, Danilo Perez & His Global Messengers, New London Big Band, Stacey Kent, Ron Aprea Big Band, Linda Lavin and Tuck & Patti.

Carnegie Hall today announced the lineup for the summer 2022 season of Carnegie Hall Citywide, the Hall’s free concert series that brings live music across New York City.

Sacred Heart University Community Theatre presents Salsa and Latin Jazz with 10-time Grammy winner, Eddie Palmieri, as part of the SHU Jazz Series

A part of the Ertegun Jazz Concert Series, Monk Con Clave will run from May 20-21 at Rose Theater.

Presented as part of the Ertegun Jazz Concert Series, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra bassist and musical director Carlos Henriquez will lead the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra in the world premiere of Monk con Clave in Rose Theater on Friday, May 20 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 21 at 8:00 p.m.

New England Conservatory President Andrea Kalyn and the Board of Trustees announced multiple Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter James Taylor as the commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient at the Conservatory's 151st annual commencement exercises, which will be held in-person on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

Legends & Visionaries, an evening of new commissions by New York Theatre Ballet, is coming to Florence Gould Hall, for two performances May 6 and 7 at 7:00 P.M.  Featuring 2022 premieres by choreographers Sir Richard Alston and James Whiteside, Legends and Visionaries will also showcase works by Gemma Bond and Nicolo Fonte.

In the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA)'s continued efforts to include diverse voices and perspectives, the museum is offering a robust series of education and public programming to celebrate both Haitian Heritage Month and Asian Pacific American Heritage Month throughout the month of May. 

The Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture will present the three-time Grammy-Award winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra featuring Paquito D'Rivera and Hermán Olivera on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 8:00 pm (EDT) live and in-person at the Main Theater of Hostos Community College.

Jazz at Lincoln Center announced its May and June 2022 programming at Dizzy’s Club, featuring a diverse lineup of club favorites and rising stars alongside the launch of a new concert series, special events, and celebrations of giants of jazz history from Slide Hampton and Ralph Peterson to Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, and Thelonious Monk.

In recognition of April as Jazz Appreciation Month the Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC) hosts  a discussion with Dr. Chris Washburne and BMHC co-artistic director Bobby Sanabria  about Washburne's latest book, Latin Jazz: The Other Jazz. This discussion will focus on why this genre of jazz is deserving of more appreciation from the jazz world.
