The multi Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk Award nominated Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn, creator of shows including Jekyll & Hyde, Dracula, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and The Scarlet Pimpernel, will make his UK concert debut in an exclusive engagement for one night only tonight 22 November 2016 at the Palace Theatre Manchester.

Thomas Borchert's very personal songs and stories reflect life in all its facets. Sometimes seriously-thoughtfully, sometimes melancholic-romantic, but also with a wink, he lets us look deeply into his - and thus also in our own soul.

The multi Grammy, Tony and Drama Desk Award nominated Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn, creator of shows including Jekyll & Hyde, Dracula, Wonderland, Bonnie & Clyde and The Scarlet Pimpernel, will make his UK concert debut in an exclusive engagement for one night only on Tuesday 22 November 2016 at the Palace Theatre Manchester, one of the venues that the UK & European premiere of his Wonderland will play from 24 - 30 April 2017 as part of a UK tour.

Am 9. Marz 2016 fand im Ronacher die Premiere von Andrew Lloyd Webbers und Tim Rices Kultmusical EVITA statt.  Neben Hollywood-Star-Regisseur und -Choreografen Vincent Paterson waren auch Dagmar Koller, Peter Weck, Ramesh Nair, Maria Kostlinger, Lilian Klebow, Chris Lohner, Isabel Weicken, Renate Brauner, Andreas Mailath-Pokorny, Peter Hanke u.v.m. mit dabei. Nach der Vorstellung stießen die Darsteller - allen voran Thomas Borchert (Peron),Drew Sarich (Che) und naturlich Wiens neue „Evita' Katharine Mehrling - und die Premierengaste bei der anschließenden Premierenfeier auf einen erfolgreichen Abend an.

Die Premiere fand vergangene Woche statt. Nach der Premiere spendete das anwesende Publikum begeisterten Beifall, die Kritiker außerten gemischte Meinungen. Wir haben hier die Pressestimmen zur neuen Inszenierung der Vereinigten Buhnen Wien zusammengefasst:

Im neuen Konzertformat „The Frank Wildhorn Songbook" lasst Thomas Borchert am 21. Marz 2016 im Theater Akzent in Wien seine großen Buhnenerfolge in den Musicals des weltbekannten Komponisten Revue passieren - und das in großen Blocken, die die Songs in einen dramaturgischen Kontext setzen. Naturlich gibt es auch Auszuge aus „Artus - Excalibur", Thomas Borcherts aktuellem Engagement in einem Frank Wildhorn-Musical, aber auch musikalische Überraschungen und seltene Songperlen aus Musicals wie „Bonnie & Clyde", „The Civil War", „Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling", "The Scarlet Pimpernel" und „Wonderland".

In seinem brandneuen Solo-Programm prasentiert der Musicalstar seine personlichen Lieblingssongs aus Musical und Film. Eine musikalische Reise durch die vielfaltige Welt der Buhnen- und Filmmusik - vom „Phantom der Oper", „Elisabeth", „Jekyll & Hyde" und „Tanz der Vampire" uber die beruhmten „James Bond" Titelsongs bis hin zu „Love Story", „Breakfast at Tiffany's" und „Manche mogen's heiss". Dabei wird Thomas Borchert, der selbst am Flugel sitzt, von zwei hochkaratigen Hamburger Musikern begleitet: Helge Teschner am Schlagzeug und Jens Wrede am Bass. In der 'Christmas Edition' bringt Thomas Borchert zusatzlich noch ein paar seiner ganz personlichen Lieblingsweihnachtslieder in neuen Arrangements zu Gehor.

Marz 2016 ist große Gala-Premiere im Wiener Ronacher. In der Titelrolle der Eva Peron wird die mit vielfachen Preisen ausgezeichnete, bekannte deutsche Sangerin, Schauspielerin und Songwriterin Katharine Mehrling zu sehen sein. An ihrer Seite in den weiteren Hauptrollen darf man sich auf die Wiener Publikumslieblinge Drew Sarich als „Che" und Thomas Borchert als „Juan Peron" freuen. 

Ein Rock-Star zu Zeiten des Rokoko: MOZART! - Das Musical aus der Feder des Erfolgsduos Michael Kunze und Sylvester Levay beleuchtet den Weltmusiker, die historische Figur, eine Legende der klassischen Musik und kehrt nun an den Ort seines Ursprungs - nach Wien - zuruck! Die unter angefügten Fotos geben einen Einblick in die neue Inszenierung im Raimund Theater Wien, die optisch v.a. mit vielen Projektionen und einer Mischung aus historischen und modernen Kostümen aufwartet.

Endlich ist es soweit - die Proben fur die nachste große Musical-Premiere der Vereinigten Buhnen Wien haben gestern begonnen! Intendant Christian Struppeck und Regisseur Professor Harry Kupfer begrußten Cast und Leading Team und starteten gemeinsam in die aufregende Probenzeit.
