Arena Stage And American University Announce Artistic Director Intensive

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, in association with American University, will pilot an Artistic Director Intensive Program beginning July 21, 2019. Ten new artistic directors of theaters from across the country will participate in this pioneering program. Sideshow Theatre Company announce sits 2019-20 Season, launching this fall with the U.S. premiere of Alistair McDowall's mind-bending sci-fi thriller X, directed by artistic director Jonathan L. Green. The season concludes next spring with the world premiere of Brynne Frauenhoffer's brash, incisive comedy PRO-AM, directed by artistic associate Regina Victor.

Luke Brady, Liam Tamne, Christine Allado, and Alexia Khadime Will Lead THE PRINCE OF EGYPT in London

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, the brand-new stage musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell) and a book by Philip LaZebnik (Mulan, Pocahontas) and based on the celebrated DreamWorks Animation film, today announces initial casting for its West End premiere production. Luke Brady and Liam Tamne will lead the cast as 'Moses' and 'Ramses' respectively, with Christine Allado as 'Tzipporah' and Alexia Khadime as 'Miriam'. Further casting to be announced.

BWW Previews: KIDSWORKS at Desert Theatreworks

When I hear the term "Summer Camp," I have an idyllic vision of canoes on a lake, arts and crafts (I was a whiz at braiding lanyards), and sappy songs around a campfire. That vision, as Margaret once said, is "gone with the wind." Today's youth want to have a good time exploring more relevant skills such as acting, singing and dancing. This month, the Valley's largest theatre camp, KidsWorks in Indio, will be performing three different shows. It looks like they are worthy of our attention.

Broadway and TV actor Frances Jue is currently starring in TheatreWorks' production of Julia Cho's 'The Language Archive.' Mr. Jue recently talked to BroadwayWorld about his lengthy and surprising career path, from his formative experiences with Stephen Sondheim and TheatreWorks to working with Tony winners David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori, and of course his continuing role on the CBS television series 'Madam Secretary.' His fascinating story serves as an inspiring example for anyone who doesn't see a clear path to success or struggles to find a place to fit in.

Huntington Theatre Company's 2019 Summer Play Workshop Begins

The Huntington Theatre Company's annual Summer Workshop began rehearsals July 9 and will conclude in public readings of four new plays on July 20 and 21, 2019. The workshop allows selected members of the Huntington Playwriting Fellows program two weeks to focus on developing new plays. The workshop and public readings will take place in the South End at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street, Boston. 

TheatreWorks New Milford to Host Free Staged Reading Of THE LARAMIE PROJECT

On Thursday July 25th, 2019 at 8 p.m., TheatreWorks New Milford's Page 2 Stage series presents a special free staged reading of 'The Laramie Project: Ten Years Later', featuring many members of TheatreWorks' 2003 production of it's predecessor 'The Laramie Project' reprising their roles and is directed by the production's original director, Jane Farnol.
