Cape Rep Theatre continues its 2018 season with the 5-time Tonywinning Broadway musical Fun Home, book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, music by Jeanine Tesori, based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, September 19 through October 14: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. The fifth season of Rise Bar's RISING STAR competition continues September 4th. This week contestants celebrate BROADWAY!

The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College is one of New York City's outstanding institutions in the training of theater artists. With the assistance of a generous grant from the Tow Foundation, the Department of Theater, in conjunction with the MFA Playwriting Program, headed by co-coordinators Mac Wellman and Erin Courtney, will present the annual Weasel Festival, hosted by The Public Theater (August 17-24). This festival of new works, previously produced by the playwrights, will feature performances of full length plays written by Kate Dakota Kremer, Rachel Kauder Nalebuff, Jerry Lieblich, and April Ranger all of whom are recent graduates of the MFA Playwrighting Program at Brooklyn College.

About Face Theatre is pleased to announce casting for its Chicago premiere of the poetic and political romance THIS BITTER EARTH, by award winning playwright and McKnight Fellow Harrison David Rivers, directed by Mikael Burke, recipient of the 2017 Princess Grace Award in Theatre.

Final casting for Berkeley Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Fairview was announced today. Written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed bySarah Benson, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, the world premiere production comes straight to Berkeley Rep from a critically acclaimed New York run. Previews begin on Thursday, October 4 with regular run of the show opening on Thursday, October 11 and continuing through Sunday, November 4. The Public Theater and the Onassis Foundation USA will begin free performances for a limited six-performance run of THE GOSPEL AT COLONUS on Tuesday, September 4.

Travis Moser, a staple of the New York City cabaret scene, has release a new album of songs in tribute to the women who have inspired him along the way.  His latest EP titled Mhe Midtown Sessions celebrates the iconic divas of Broadway and beyond that have influenced Moser's recording and concert work to date.

Adam Bock's A Life, commissioned by Portland Center Stage at The Armory, will receive its West Coast debut at The Armory following the success of the play's world premiere in New York.

Premiering on October 23, DREAMBOY is the creation of storyteller, performer and composer Dane Terry, and Ellie Heyman, who was a co-director and co-developer of The Orbiting Human Circus (of the Air) podcast.  Set over a few flickering nights in Cleveland, DREAMBOY is a mystery about dreams, unexplained deaths, relentless change, and the parts of ourselves that we wish other people knew to look for.

In the sleepy town of Lock Haven, Pa., a family drama is being played out behind the doors of the local funeral home that will have life-changing impacts. Join Pierrot Productions as they present the Tony Award-winning musical "Fun Home" at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre Fridays, Sept. 21 and 28 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sept. 22 and 29 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Sept. 23 and 30 at 2 p.m.

St. Ann's Warehouse and Eva Price have extended the celebrated Bard SummerScape production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma, directed byDaniel Fish, to November 11. Reviewing this re-imagined Oklahoma! for the New York Times in 2015, Ben Brantley said that it 'elicits what has always been just below the surface of this magnificent musical.' Now bringing audiences and artists together in this production under the vast canopy of St. Ann's Warehouse, Fish illuminates the musical form's essentials to better expose the show's emotional range and layered characters. The result is a production as fresh and revelatory as if it were written for today's America.

It may be a while since the parade passed by, but there's never a bad time to mourn the closing of HELLO, DOLLY! Long Wharf Theatre's New Works Festival, the theatre's fourth annual celebration of adventurous, innovative new plays, will take place September 21-22 on Stage II.

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) announced further details today for the Shakespearean centerpiece to the 2018 Epic Season, The War of the Roses. The War of the Roses is a monumental evening of theater spanning four history plays-the Henry VI trilogy and Richard III. Presented as an action-packed evening, The War of the Roses will deliver a fast-paced, far-ranging, vividly theatrical depiction of two powerful families-the Lancasters and the Yorks-and their decades-long fight for the English throne. Political unrest and power grabs collide with weak leadership and civil strife as the country fights against the threat of tyranny.

Award winning Jamaican actress Dianne Dixon will appear onstage at The Public Theater for the first time in a staged reading of Canadian playwright Trey Anthony's family drama How Black Mothers Say I Love You, under the direction of Tony Award winner Kenny Leon.
