Ruck, Robards, Rimmer, Boccitto & Cast Hold ALBUM Talk-back At Group Theatre Too

The Group Theatre Too's recent production of David Rimmer's 'Album' culminated with a star-studded opening and a 'talk back' after the performance. Alan Ruck, who performed 'Album' in Chicago, and Sam Robards who replaced the original Cherry Lane cast in 1981, joined David Rimmer, director Justin Boccitto and the cast of the 2009 revival at the Hudson Guild Theater as they answered questions and spoke about the history of 'Album' over the last twenty five years.

AWAKE AND SING! Comes To Main Street Theater, Previews 5/2, 5/3, 5/6

Main Street Theater concludes its 2008-2009 season with Clifford Odets' masterpiece Awake and Sing! Originally produced on Broadway in 1935 with Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, Luther Adler, and other members of the Group Theatre, Main Street's production has previews May 2, 3, and 6 and opens Thursday, May 7, and runs through June 7 at Main Street Theater - Rice Village, 2540 Times Blvd. (There is no performance Friday, May 8.)

Francisco, Gregorio, Paige, Speirs Cast In ALBUM At Group Theater Too 5/1-3

Complete casting has been announced for the Group Theatre Too's upcoming production of the rock-and-rollin' play Album by David Rimmer. Directed by Justin Boccitto, assisted by Cristina Marie, the company will feature Eddy Francisco, Ryan Gregorio, Dylan Paige and Lexie Speirs.

Aurora Theatre Company's AWAKE AND SING! Opens Its 18th Season On 8/27

Aurora Theatre Company sets the tone for its 18th season, a season focusing on "family and fortune," opening with Clifford Odets' classic Depression-era drama AWAKE AND SING! First produced in 1935 by the Group Theatre, AWAKE AND SING! covers a year in the life of an extended Jewish family that does whatever it takes to survive life in the Bronx.

Group Theater Too Announces 2009 Season Choreographers

The Group Theatre Too announces choreographers for it's 2009 Choreographer's Canvas, sponsored by the Broadway Dance Center, Capezio and The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Sixteen established and emerging ballet, hip-hop, tap, jazz, theatre dance, modern & lyrical choreographers have been chosen from hundreds of submissions from across the nation to showcase their works in the annual Group Theatre Too event.

There will also be an additional performance on Thursday, March 12 at 8pm. All performances will be at Richard Hugo House located at 1634 11th Avenue (11th Avenue, off of Pine Street) on Seattle's Capitol Hill. Transcendence Theatre Co. Embarks On 3 Month Artistic Expedition 'The Transcendence Artist Project' in Mexico

Transcendence Theatre Company, a group of artists with an extensive list of Broadway, National and International Touring, Regional Theatre, Film and Television credits are embarking on an expedition entitled 'The Transcendence Artist Project' March through May, 2009 at The Gertrude Pearlman Theatre in Punta Banda, Mexico. In 1931, at the height of The Great Depression, The Group Theatre (Clurman, Strasberg, Crawford, Adler, Meisner) embarked on a journey of self-discovery and artistic exploration that would revolutionize the American Theatre. In 2009, as America faces a financial crisis that is closing 16 Broadway shows and numerous regional theatres across the country, The Transcendence Theatre Company will embark on its own exploration to take life and art to new levels. 'The Transcendence Artist Project' is an experiment of great magnitude uniting personal development with artistic development through individual, group, and community integration. The company of artists will join together with a team of holistic health, healing arts, peak performance nutrition, mindset training, sustainability, and creative arts specialists to enhance the personal and collective development.

Performances are Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 4 and 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m.
