Today, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre announced that Jeffrey Holland will lead the cast of its first in-house production in almost 40 years. Jeffrey will play ex-miner and veteran conductor of Grimley Band, Danny in BRASSED OFF, from Wednesday 23 August - Saturday 2 September 2017.

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and Shakespeare Dallas announced today the celebration of Sonnets, the final readings of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare and the conclusion of a five-year artistic collaboration with Shakespeare Dallas presenting all of William Shakespeare's plays and sonnets. Sonnets, will be hosted by well-known Shakespeare aficionado and comedian, William Sutton.

Theatre in India borrows heavily from folk stories and legends, which are given a contemporary twist. The messages contained in these classics are considered timeless and universal, just as Shakespear's works are regarded in the west. But there is another source from which our theatre borrows ...particularly theatre in North India, and that is Bollywood. It is common practice today to include original songs and dances from popular cinema or a slightly changed version to dodge the copyright act. Adding to this melee are the Indianised versions of Shakespear's plays, some of them commissioned by the Globe Theatre, Britain, that narrate the story through a Bollywood style song and dance routine.

The FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training caps its 2016-17 season with William Shakespeare's whimsical classic A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, performed outdoors on the stunning grounds of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Directed by Jonathan Epstein, the production previews on Tuesday, April 11 at 8pm with a special 'Pay What You Can Performance,' offering tickets at whatever price patrons can afford when purchased the day of the performance, at a minimum of $3 per seat. The show officially opens on Wednesday, April 12 at 8pm, and runs through Saturday, April 29. Performances will run Tuesday through Saturday.
