Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) is pleased to share the news that The Kleban Foundation's 28th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Christian Duhamel for his work on My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend, a musical that received its world premiere at MRT in Lowell in April 2017.

The Kleban Foundation just announced the recipients of the 28th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre. Adjudication in the 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist category resulted in a tiebetween Alan Schmuckler and Amanda Yesnowitz, andthe 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Christian Duhamel. The 2018 prizes will be presented on Monday, February 5, 2018, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

Cabaret patroness Madame Mathieu has selected Natalie Charle Ellis (School of Rock, Les Miserables), and F. Michael Haynie (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wicked) as guests of honor at the January 18th edition of the Bistro Awards Critics' Pick Madame Mathieu's Soiree. The duo will perform alongside a distinguished group of artists from a variety of disciplines in the first edition of Season 3 of the show. The winners of the first ever Denovan Residencies, the most comprehensive development grants in New York cabaret, will be announced at the event.

Byron St. Cyr returns to Don't Tell Mama with a final visit to 4600 Mithra: My New Orleans on Monday, January 15th at 7pm. This swinging night of jazz was debuted in March 2017, and he's back with his trio and some new and old standards that remind him of home. He will be joined by his musical director Drew Wutke; with direction by Jim Brigman once again.
